Another
little lie in this morning as it’s still grey, damp and overcast in sunny
Manilva this morning; we then had for our breakfast Poached Eggs on Toast
(Brenda Special!) We are then having a nice leisurely morning getting ourselves
ready; we are going over early this afternoon to Claus and Doreen’s villa down
on the coast road before Estepona, it’s on the hillside and has spectacular
views across the Mediterranean and down to Gibraltar and Africa – on a fine day! We are looking
forward to our day out – all the pictures later!
As you can see above Claus and Doreen,s villa is one 'Helluva' villa! Over the past ten years they have totally re-built the old property inside and out over the two floors;the top level is there,s and the level below has the indoor/wave pool and Jaccuzi with a large guest apartment with kitchen. The cellar below is large enough for a bowling ally! The two terraces are huge and there is a large water feature overlooking the re-laid garden! No pictures for security reasons !!
They made us very welcome as they showed us around; to start with we had a 'Carpaccio' of Cured meat with toasted Pine nuts and a fine chilled Cava; for the main course Claus had prepared a large joint of 'Pot-Roasted Beef' on a bed of Shallots with a rich finger-licking salsa on the side, whole Green savory Beans and a large dish of one of his speciality's " Kartoffelkloesse!" - Potato Dumplings. We had taken a very special bottle that we have been saving for a special day " Savigny-Les-Beaune" 2004 'Maison Champy' One of our favorite Burgundy's.
For dessert we had individual Strawberry tarts with a Chocolate cup of Advocaat ! 'Lecker' as Doreen would say! The white wine and Bacardi and Cokes flowed ! Very many thanks to the folks for a wonderful meal and great company - now a even bigger thank you to Claus who has offered to take us to the hospital tomorrow evening as just before we came out Andy called to say that he can't make it as his shifts have been changed at the hotel.Claus is picking us up and then bringing us back later after I've been in for the Biopsy.

Some more
sports results today later as Spurs welcome Everton and Barcelona are in Seville , last night Real Madrid won 4-2.Sadly Everton lost 1-0 - sorry Big Bri! Barcelona won 1-4 and are back at the top of 'La Liga' on goal difference(5) with Real and Atl.Madrid as well as Barcelona all on the same points !!!
Last night
we lost most of the main Spanish channels as I storm hit us during the evening
so we ended up watching a Moroccan TV Station that we have, there are two main
channels, one in French and the other in Moroccan! A film was just starting and
it was in English with Moroccan sub-titles, so no problem there then!
“ Celine” from
2008 – the unauthorized life story of Celine Dion! It stars Christine Ghani as
Celine,Jodelle Ferland( Younger) and Peter MacNeill as her manager and
