WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY THE 1ST OF DECEMBER 2013

SUNDAY 1st/DECEMBER 2013.

This morning we had a little lie in and then after our tea and toast we had a nice leisurely freshen up; as forecast the weather today is warm and sunny with clear blue skies as you can see in the picture above. The forecast for tomorrow is even better as its going to reach 21 degs ! I got tonight’s supper on the go; we are not having a roast today, its ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet’ cooked on the griddle with Brenda’s Carrots in Ginger and diamond cut Green Beans, my ‘Breton style’ Potatoes, diced boiled potatoes tossed in foaming butter with diced Onions, Red, Green and Yellow Peppers – on the side I have made a sharp/piquant ‘Charcutiere’ sauce with a julienne of Gherkins and mixed Mustards!

We then went for our walk around the village with both of the dogs, it’s the finest December day we’ve had for a couple of years and we ended up at Bar Rojas sat in the warm sunshine with our drinks; Gillian came along and joined us for her last Sunday in Manilva for a while as she is going back to her new house in Torquay on Tuesday – we are taking her early in the morning to the bus station over in Marbella as she is flying back to Bristol. Our friend Antonio also came along so we all sat and ate Lumy’s Paella on a beautiful day in sunny Manilva!

All the football scores later as Liverpool, Manchester City and Barcelona are all playing; after our supper we will find a film to watch, last night it was a ‘James Bond’ movie – “ Casino Royale ” from 2006 with Daniel Craig playing the famous character for the first time,Eva Green,Mads Mikklelsen and Judi Dench all giving excellent performances with the high lights being the infamous ‘chair’ sequence and the building collapsing in Venice!

PS; First the good news, City beat Swansea 3-1 but then for the bad news, Liverpool played terrible and lost at Hull?! 3-1 and then for the very bad news Barcelona lost at Ath.Bilbao 1-0 and this means that Atl,Madrid are level on points and only two goals behind them in 'La Liga' !!

Thought for the Day; See above.
