Well it’s
the start of yet another still sunny week in sunny Manilva! After breakfast I
walked down to the car park and brought the car up to the house to check the
coolant and Oil ready for our drive over to Marbella bus station tomorrow
morning with Gillian; no other plans, so far, this week so we are looking
forward to doing nothing but relaxing, drinking, eating, reading etc.-and any
other ‘ings’ that I can find!! Brenda has suggested washing, drying, ironing, cleaning and washing - so far!!
Big Bri is
in fine form after Everton’s win and Liverpool loosing at Hull ?! He is calling us later so no
doubt he will have something to say!Mano called in at lunchtime as we met him while we were out for our walk with the dogs,in the new park as you can see in the pictures above;he stopped for a few beers as he was winding down after a stressful week at the hotel on the night shifts.
Yesterday
on TVE1 it was the John Travolta season as he was in all the films; it started
with ‘Grease’ from 1978, which we did not watch, then a very good, excellent
re-make of the 1974 film “The Taking of Pelham 123” with Denzel Washington as
the goodie and Travolta as the baddie,James Gandolfini as the mayor of New York – it also has a very
different ending from the original story that was based on actual events.
Finally the
late film was “ The Generals Daughter ”from 1999 with Travolta as an Army cop
with the ever watchable Madeleine Stowe,James Cronwell,Timothy Hutton, James
Wood and Leslie Stefanson – one to watch!
Tonight for
supper we are having ‘Escalope of Pork Milanese’ – breaded flattened Pork
fillets cooked in foaming Lemon butter and served with ‘Spaghetti Milanese’ on
the side, its tossed in my rich Tomato salsa after cooking the Spaghetti
‘Aldante’ – diamond cut Green Beans from the vegetable Chef! Today it’s our
‘Italian day’ in sunny Manilva as for our lunch we are having my homemade
‘Minestrone Soup’ !!
Later we
will catch up with all the news, sport and weather details before finding
something to watch after channel hopping.
Thought for
the Day; See above.
