TUESDAY 3rd/
DECEMBER 2013.
We were up
bright and early this morning to take our friend Gillian over to the bus
station in Marbella so as she could catch the bus to the airport
in Malaga for her flight home to the UK ; see the picture above. On the way
back we called into the English butchers and got a tin of Duck Fat for the Xmas
roasting, Cranberry sauce and some sweets to go in our Xmas selection tin from
the English supermarket!
When we got
back to the house I sorted our supper out for this evening, ‘Mixed Grill’ –
griddled Lamb cutlets, Calves liver, English Pork sausage, Smoked Bacon,Burger,Chorizo, Mushroom & Tomato, fried Egg with dry sautéed thick cut Baked Potatoes –
Mano has just called in as he was out for a walk with ‘Feria’- I had cooked off
his Mixed Grill ready for him to collect as he is back in work tonight!
The menu
for the rest of the week is looking like ‘Braised Steak’ tomorrow, Omelets on
Thursday, Fried Fish for Friday,’ Steak night’ on Saturday and a Roast Chicken
for Sunday.
This week
on Friday it’s a bank holiday “ Dia de la Constitucion’ – ‘Constitution Day’
when back in 1978 the new era of Spanish democracy was started. The government
has already dropped some of the saint’s days and next year they are cutting out
more of the bank holidays including December 6th! So this means that
we will have to do our shopping on Thursday this week but won’t be able to pick
up the papers.
The weather
forecast for the rest of the week is looking good, clear, sun, little wind and
crisp but no rain – yesterday in Northern Spain and Majorca they had severe floods – we are
still hanging in with the temperatures hovering around the 18/19 degs mark!
After
supper this evening it will be film time after watching the news and weather
updates;
Thought for
the Day; See above.
