MONDAY 2nd/
SEPTEMBER 2013.
We had a
nice lie in this morning after all the excitement of the weekend; it’s a Bank
Holiday just in the village to give them all a chance to recuperate! Brenda is
having a washing/drying morning and I’ am up in the office sending thank you
messages to the councilors and now Facebook ‘Friends!’ Yesterday evening just as
we were finishing our Chicken curry one of our neighbour’s called in as she was
passing our open front door, ‘Arecel(Isobel) Luque’live down at the bottom of our
street with her family and she was showing us some Facebook pictures, it turns
out as you get chatting that as usual in Manilva everybody is related to everybody!
This week
is quiet by even our standards so we are just pottering about doing nothing, which
we really enjoy, we hope to see the dog soon as it must be nearly time for her
to come back off her holiday’s from the family Campo and we will then be able
to go out for our regular village walks again – also it will start to get just
a little cooler in sunny and a still very hot Manilva!
So this
afternoon I will be watching the ‘Vuelta 2013’ stage 9 which is the first
mountainous stage in this years tour; it starts in the Granada region of Andalusia
in the town of Torredelcampo and ends up at Guijar Sierra - Alto Hazallenas after 187kms.On the
TDP Sports channel I will also catch up with yesterdays action and also the
Motor GP over at Silverstone.
With a briilliant solo breakaway ride up the final climb above the lake the USA rider Chis Horner won stage 10 by nearly 50 seconds and now is in the RED jersey from Nibali, with Valverde 3rd - how the three finished on the climb!

We will be
back up on the roof terrace later reading out latest ‘Patterson’s for our
‘Happy Hour’ before supper tonight which is ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with twice
cooked Chips and all the trimmings. We will also sort out our ‘Menu’s’ for the
week after we check what’s in the deep-freeze and also what we fancy!
This
evening or some time tomorrow we are going to get in touch with Jack and Lyn
over in Melbourne on the Skype video as we have not spoken to then in a while
so we need a good old ‘Chin-Wag’ and catch up!
Thought for
the Day; See above.
