NEARLY SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY

SATURDAY 7th SEPTEMBER 2013.

Well this morning it’s a little overcast, cloudy and cooler as forecast, fingers crossed that the ‘RAIN’ stays away in sunny Manilva for the weekend; I’ am up in the office after breakfast watching on one of the PCs BBC TV1 live in full screen as this morning ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ returns, at the moment its the ‘Breakfast’ programme from BBC News which is nice to see for a change. I’ am using the latest system on the Internet to make the contact as later this month the new satellite is being launched which will not broadcast all the English channels to Spain, so no more ‘Freeview’ etc for those who have it! We don’t by choice as we don’t want to watch ‘Soaps’ etc – just the occasional programme that we want to see! I could connect the PC to our new super TV downstairs but at the moment we are quite content!

Brenda is pottering about as usual cleaning,washing,ironing,de-frosting( Deep freeze/Fridge) and then getting ready in the kitchen for tonight’s supper; its ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with sauté Mushrooms and Onions, twice cooked Chips and finely sliced Green Beans with deep-fried Garlic cloves for Brenda and a Campo fried Egg on top of mine!

Later today we will hopefully be back up on the roof terrace, weather permitting, for our ‘Happy Hour’ but if its not sunny we can de-camp down to the ‘Chill-Out’ room on the first floor to read and listen to some music from the PCs – ‘Blues’ played loud! What a life!! Late this afternoon the sun is out as we are making our way up to the roof terrace!

SPORTS NEWS UP DATE;

This afternoon I will be watching the ‘Vuelta 2013’ stage 14 which is from Baga to the principality of Andorra at the Collada de la Gallina over 155kms in the Pyrenees as you can see in the relief map above..

The winner of stage 14 up to a very cold and wet Andorra was the Italian rider Daniel Ratto with Nibali and Horner coming in second and third as you can see in the pictures above,no change in the overall standings with Nibali still in the RED jersey and Chris Horner just over 50 seconds behind!

The Italian Grand Prix from Monza will be on at lunchtime for the qualifying sessions and this evening I will follow the football in the ‘La Liga’ as it happens; meanwhile over in the USA the ‘Open Tennis’ is reaching the final stages, the Men’s semi-finals are today and Ladies final is between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenko, a repeat of last years final! Nadel and Djokovic avoid one another in the semi-finals so they should meet in the final.

Boring over in Italy as Vetell takes the pole with Webber second.

Later I will try to find another film for Brenda to watch, if not it will have to be pot luck!

PS; Madrid have just been eliminated from the 'Olympic 2020' vote after a very good address from the 'Prince of Astoria' in perfect 'Oxford English' ! And the winners are 'TOKYO' !!

Thought for the Day; See above.
