SUNNY AND WARM MANILVA ON SUNDAY

SUNDAY 8th/ SEPTEMBER 2013.

Well we awoke today to the sun crashing through the shutters; so much for the forecast of ‘RAIN’- in fact it’s a glorious day in sunny Manilva! After getting supper ready for tonight, we are having ‘Lamb Cutlets on Boulangere Potatoes’ with Cauliflower and Broccoli florets in a Cheese sauce, Carrot batons and Garden Peas, we then had a nice shower and freshen up before we went for a short walk we ended up at Bar Rojas and had a cool drink sat under the Sonbrajo with a slice of warn Tortilla that had just been made!

Back in the house I have just watched the start of the Italian Grand Prix from Monsa as I settle down to have a sporty afternoon; a boring win for Vettel but Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari was second and that made the Italian crowds happy!

Later on TDP it’s the 15th stage of the ‘Vuelta 2013’ which today is from Principality of Andorra to the French side of the Pyrenees at Peyragudes over 225kms the longest stage of the Tour; yesterday two Spanish riders had to retire due to hyperthermia! The French rider after 6hrs 20mins in the saddle,Alexandre Geniez has just won the stage into the ski resort of Peyragudes, No change in the general classification.See the pictures above.

Later it’s the ‘USA Open Tennis’ from Flushing Meadows outside New York, Nadel v Djokovic in the men’s final. The women's final is on at the moment( 1-00am here) and it is one set all as William's missed two championship points!

Also over in San Francisco at the moment it’s the 34th ‘America’s Cup’ with the 72ft super catamarans of ‘Team New Zealand against the USA boat ‘Oracle’ – the new Zealand boat has won the first two races in the 17 race series. See the picture above.

Mano called in at lunchtime to pick the papers up, they can’t join us tonight as one of Mano’s sisters with her husband is calling in tomorrow at their house and Anna is ‘Busy’ cleaning!

We will be up on the roof terrace later as usual before supper. Last night we channel hopped and later I watched a live music concert on TVE1 featuring a Spanish group from Valencia with a excellent lady singer, Carol Garcia called “ Limbotheque ” – rather unusual with some different versions of tunes you know! Check them out!!

Tonight I found the perfect film for Brenda even though it had some swearing in it as King George V1 learnt to overcome his st,st,stammer! " The King's Speech " from 2010 is a multi- national award winning film starring Colin Firth( Oscar) Geoffrey Rush,Helen Bonham Carter and Timothy Spall - enthralling to watch as history open's up before you!

Thought for the Day; See above.
