WINDY AND SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY

TUESDAY 17^th/ SEPTEMBER 2013.

Over night the wind has got up, it’s the end of the hurricane blowing in from the Atlantic so the shutters have been rattling all night; the sun is out and its still warm,29/31degs today so we can’t complain! I’ve just seen Brenda off on the bus down to Sabinillas as she is going for a bracing walk along the beach back from Duquesa;

I’ am catching up on the WWW and reading the newspapers,online,checking out the e-mails and reading Facebook at the moment; then I’ am going to get tonight’s supper on the go, we are having Baked Pork Chops with ‘ Breton’ Potatoes,Brenda when she came back from her 'Morning Constitutional' got the Cabbage with Alselgas and  Mashed Carrots with Baby Turnips ready and on the side we will have my famous Tomato salsa. 

Tomorrow I'am going to make a 'Chicken and Mushroom Pie' for supper,I've also cooked the Chicken Wings and made some Potato salad with some Baby New Potatoes in the skins.

No plans or appointments this week so it’s a nice relaxing time in sunny Manilva doing nothing – great!! We are waiting to hear about the car, fingers crossed that it’s not major! I thing that we are going to park the car in the underground car park for the next few months after I have checked that there are no restrictions.

The finishing touches to the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ are being done, this morning they are putting in the ground in front of the sign floodlights, they have installed a fresh water drinking tap and the children’s play area is now finished so any moment now we are expecting the official opening and a invite!

Next week, a week today it’s my birthday so we are starting to think what to do and where to go, the first card has arrived already, in fact it was posted on Friday and arrived on Monday – so the post does work! We will soon be moving down to the ‘Chill-Out’ room for our afternoon reading,’ Happy Hour’ and listening to music, I’ve a new library on my ‘Spotify’ web-page so we will be able to listen to it loud through the PC speakers and Base Sub- Woofer!

Last night we watched the start of this year’s series of ‘La Voz – The Voice’ on ‘Telecinco’ the Spanish version; this was because a very good friend of Anna’s was going to be on it after passing the auditions in Madrid, she is a semi-professional singer who lives and works in Tenerife.

We have never seen the English show but have read about it; any way it started at 10-00pm and did not finish until 2-00am as’Channel Five’ has the longest commercial breaks- 7 minutes I kid you not! Also Anna told us the Spanish version it a lot longer with lot’s of loud talking, shouting, kissing and crying from the contestants when the win or loose! So we settled down to wait and see the performance from Lydia, we waited and waited and no ‘Lydia’ appeared ! I spoke to Anna while the show was on and she said that she spotted Lydia’s 'Jimmy Choo Shoes’ in the opening credits but not her ! More to follow when we find out what happened!! Anna called in just after lunch to say that she will be on later in the series,but does't know when.
