MONDAY 9th/
SEPTEMBER 2013.
Well it’s
another glorious day here in sunny Manilva this morning so after breakfast we
went and washed the car as later in the week I have an appointment at the
hospital over in Marbella with a new consultant in the ‘Internal Medicine/Heart
?’ department as my Kidney consultant has asked for me to investigated to see
if I’ am suitable for a treatment to manage my sugar levels and at the same
time it reduces your appetite,ie;weight!
So on
Thursday we are having a little day out over in Estepona at the same time;
first thing in the morning on the way to the hospital I will call into out bank
to arrange a new card, then on the way back we will call into San Pedro de
Alcantara to pick up some ‘Night Lights’ from Brenda’s favorite shop before we
end up back in Estepona so as I can go to my barber’s and Brenda can pick up
some essential make up, finally we are going to call into the ‘ Carrefour’
hypermarket to see what we can find!
Brenda is
having a washing.cleaning, vacuuming, drying and any other ‘Ing’ that she can
find day!! So I’ am up in the office catching up on the WWW and ‘Minding’ my
own way!
This
afternoon the ‘Vuelta 2013’ has its last day in the Pyrenees as it goes from Graus to Sallent de
Gallego over 147kms as you can see in the relief map above
Today's stage was won by the young French rider Warren Barguil in a photo-finish.his second stage win in the last couple of days - Nibali's lead was cut by Chris Horner to 28 seconds so he still retains the RED jersey.

Last night
over at the ‘USA Open Tennis’ Serena Williams won her 17th Grand
Slam and her 5th US Open title in a hard fought match against the
number two seed Victoria Azarenka;Today it’s the men’s final Nadel v Djokovic –
it’s the 37th time that they have played one another – 21-15 to
Nadel!
Tonight for
supper I ‘am going to make something that we haven’t had for a long time the
classic “ Steak Au Poirve ” with hand crushed Black Peppercorns, sauté Onions,
Beef stock, Cream and ‘Flamed’ in Brandy! Brenda is cutting the finely sliced
Green Beans and ‘Fries’ as I’ am typing this! I feel a “Steak Diane”could be next on the
menu!! Now there’s one from the past!
Meanwhile
over in Mauritius David and Jane are leaving today to
fly to Dubai (41degs!) for the second part of their holiday.
Thought for
the Day; See above.
