SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY

SATURDAY 1st/ JUNE 2013.

We had a little lie in after the warmest night so far this year, we are now in our full summer mold; Chispa came crashing in early so we went for a good walk, after I had watched ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ – we then had our showers, we now change our routine for showering as it just gets to hot during the day so we either have one first thing in the morning or late at night!

For our snack lunch today, as you can see above, we had the rest of the deep-fried Hake in Breadcrumbs with a Tartar sauce side salad served on our best ‘ Villeroy and Boch’- “ Anapola ” plates – Brenda put the sprig of fresh Parsley on the salad!!

This afternoon there is a mixed selection of sport to follow; at the moment the Rugby from Hong Kong is on, the ‘ Barbarians v the ‘British & Irish Lions’ – the Lions are leading !( Sexton has just kicked two goals and missed three!!)  Final score 'Baa-Baas' 8 - 'Lions' 59 !  Downstairs on the TV it is the qualifying of the ‘Motor GP’from Mugello in Italy. Strangely there is no Tennis on the Spanish sports channels covering the ‘French Open’ from Paris but I can get coverage on the IT Sports channels on the PC!

Later it is the  “Epsom Derby ” from the Downs with ‘Dawn Approach’ the favorite;  meanwhile over here it is the final day of ‘La Liga’ with Real Madrid at home to Osasuna ( Mourinho's final game in charge) and Barcelona at home to Malaga.

PS; The Derby has just been won by 'Ruler of the World' at 7/1 - ridden by Ryan Moore and trained by Aiden O'Brien - Dawn Approach' blew up and finished next to last!

Tonight we are having ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with all the usual trimmings; this morning we sorted out what we are doing when the folks are here, we are booking the restaurants, over the weekend of Brenda’s birthday, she has three days off !!! We have planned what we are going to have at the house for the rest of the time – it’s going to be a “ Helluva ” week in sunny Manilva – details to follow nearer the date so it’s a surprise ! On the Sunday evening of the 23rd  it is the ‘ Night of San Juan’ which has been moved from it’s normal Saturday - which fits in nicely !

Thought for the Day; See above.
