THURSDAY 27th/
JUNE 2013.
Well today
we are back into our old routine around the house; Brenda is mopping and
cleaning and I’ am in the office out of the way with the dog on the WWW! We have just come back from a long walk
around the village, we called into the post office to post a birthday card, and
watch out it could be you! I then went in next door to the new ‘IT’ shop and
enquired after ink cartridges for the Epson printer, they have compatible ones
at half the price – result!
They have
really got on with new side walk and railings along Calle Cruces over the last
week and will soon be starting the new ‘Mirador’ below; the village ‘Dairy’ was
just receiving a local delivery as you can see above and the work on the church
is progressing well, they have put back up the top on the tower.’ Plaza Pozo
del Rey’ is having all the finishening touches and is taking shape very quickly
now – see the picture Blog above.
Later this
morning I was back in the kitchen making a batch of my famous ‘Tomato Salsa’
which we use for Pasta, Meatballs, and Ratatouille and as a sauce with all
sorts of meats; then I blanched the chips for tonight’s supper with Egg and
Sausages and finally I have just made a classic ‘Turkey Fricassee’ with the
leftovers along with some diced Green and Yellow Peppers in a rich Tarragon
cream sauce! Ummmmmmmmm!
“ FILMS ON
TV ”
Over the
last two nights we have also been watching late films on the Movie Channel and
TVE1; a Steven Spielberg directed film was first called “Catch me if you can”from
2002, it is a American Biographical crime story based on the life of ‘Frank
Abagnale’who before his 19th birthday successfully performed cons
worth millions of dollars posing as a airline pilot, doctor and even a state
prosecutor! The main part is played by Leonardo DiCaprio and the FBI agent
chasing him is Tom Hanks with Christopher Walken,Martin Sheen and James Brolin
– it’s a good yarn with a twist at the end!
The second
film that I caught later was “Johnson County Wars ” from 2002 also; based on
historical facts about the range wars in Wyoming in 1892 – it has a “ Helluva”
cast of Tom Berenger as the goodie, Luke Perry, Burt Reynolds as the
baddie,Christopher Cazenove,Fay Masterson and the very watch able Rachel Ward
as the tart with a heart! It is a long film that gradually builds up to a
dramatic shoot out – don’t miss it!
PS; The
folks arrived home and on time back in Manchester yesterday afternoon and have
had good rest before Jack and Lyn set off on their travels again – watch this
space to see where they end up this time!
PPS; We have just received in the afternoon post two more birthday cards from North Wales; Judith and Wesley, thank you so much and have a " Helluva" Wedding on Saturday! The other card was a 'Welsh' birthday card that has made Brenda's day - 'Penblwydd Hapus 60!' from Patrick and Beth with lots of sparkle/glitter things dropping out all over the place!! Thanks to all for remembering my special day!!
