A VERY 'FRESH & CRISPY' SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 8th/ JANUARY 2020.

We had a another lie in this morning as the village is still very quiet after the ‘Bank Holiday’ weekend, the children have not gone back to school yet, no deliveries down out street and the neighbours are staying inside as it’s a little cool for them in the morning!

After freshening up as I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce- open on brown for Brenda, with sliced Baby Mushrooms seared in the bacon juices with a knob of butter, for Brenda, some of which ended up on my Butty! Mugs of hot/strong tea helped to wash them down!!

Tomorrow morning in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ we now have little’ Miss Bella’ back with us for the day, later in the evening ‘ Scruffy’ is joining us for a sleep-over.

This morning has started again, bright & sunny, the sky has cleared and is blue, there is a light ‘ fresh’ breeze so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 18 degs+ still down to 9 degs during the night, a little cool for the time of the year, down here on the ‘ Costa De Sol ‘! Over the next couple of days and the weekend it’s staying the same, if a little cooler as the breeze stiffens, with just a small chance of ‘ Wet- Stuff’ in the air, so hopefully it will be dry on Sunday when we are out with our dear friend ‘ Joyce Baby’ Next week is now looking more unsettled as the next cold, wet & windy ‘ Atlantic’ front comes in, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ but with patchy to moderate rain over the whole week, with sunny spells, watch this space.

Overnight we had an ‘ E-Mail’ from some very dear friends that we have not  heard from for some time, except for Birthday/Xmas cards, Zoe & Graham, over in Marple Bridge in Stockport, Zoe worked for us at the ‘ Hotel Seventy Degrees’ as our ‘ Sales & Marketing Manager, and Graham was a ‘ Captain’ on executive/luxury yachts! We have had a good ‘ catch up’ with all their news  and are arranging a ‘ Facetime’ link-up ASAP!

Taken in the garden of Zoe & Grahams cottage back in August 2006!  Just before we set off on our travels !!

After breakfast I then got this evenings supper on the go; a “ Pork & Mushroom ‘ Tarragon Casserole “ – made with sliced Pork Loin, that I dust in seasoned flour and brown-off, at the same time I made the sauce, sweating off diced Onion, Shallots & Garlic, and lots of Tarragon Herbs, with a dash of ‘Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ - with a good glug of White Wine, adding small diced Carrots, Leeks, Celery, Green Beans & Turnips, along with small Baby Mushrooms (Tinned) – all left to cook off after adding a rich ‘ Chicken & Meat Stock’ – then adjusting the seasoning to taste as well as the consistency, before coating the ‘Pork’ in the large casserole dish, with the sauce, ready to go in the oven this evening, served with whole Baby Carrots ‘ en branch’ & Garden Peas, with Parsley New Potatoes.

Yesterday evening after supper we watched the first episode of the two-part( 2nd this evening) of the new series of “ Silent Witness’ on BBC TV 1 – a very gripping and harrowing ‘Private Jet Crash ‘ with a former US ambassador on board, as well as young boy, who survived, does he know anything ! Did terrorists cause the crash, who is the mystery passenger, a suicide looks suspicious, another mysterious suicidal man appears, and the partner of Nikki, a ‘ CIA’ man,  is acting strange ‘! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
