SATURDAY 13th/ JULY 2014.
We had a nice long lie in this morning, in
fact we overslept a little, we then freshened up, as Brenda was on the
breakfast rota, it was time for her famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast,
Scrambled for her, with mugs of hot tea, to set us up for the day ahead. Basically
doing nothing ,because we can!
The sun was out early, this morning, the
sky is clearing and by lunchtime we will be in for a ‘ Hot-One’ – reaching 30
degs+ - there is a slight breeze, in the shade, the Church Bells ( 2 ) are
ringing, calling the faithful to Mass, another perfect day here in sunny
Manilva, tomorrow it’s going to be the same, next week starts on Monday with it
going up to 33 degs+ the same on Tuesday/Wednesday, then there is a light breeze,
bringing back down to 26/27 degs+ for the rest of the week, during the night
hovering on the 20/21 degs mark, and over next weekend, watch this space.
This weekend on the sports front we have a ‘
Helluva’ weekend of sport; this afternoon it’s the Final of the ‘Women’s Tennis’
from Wimbledon, as Serana Williams plays Simona Halep, the Flat Horse Racing is
from ‘Ascot & Newmarket’ the Qualifying of the ‘British Grand Prix’ is at
Silverstone and at the ‘ Tour de France’ – Stage 8 goes from Macon to
Saint-Etienne over a hilly 200 kms, then tomorrow we have the ‘Cricket World
Cup’ at Lord’s as New Zealand play England!
Over in Liverpool at the far end of the
Landing Stage, there are two ships berthed, the ‘Njord Kittiwake & the
Njord Magni’ – fast support vessels for patrolling in rough seas etc.
For our supper this evening we are having ‘
Steak & Chips’ – Grilled Fillet Steaks cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘
Med-Rare’ – then left to rest, with just a few triple-cooked ‘ Chips’ – Dijon Mustard
to taste. On Sunday, for a change, as we are ‘ Clucking’ after all the ‘
Chicken, it’s going to be ‘Grilled Marinated Lamb Cutlets’ with Baked Potatoes.
After watching all the sport we will channel
hop to find a good film to watch.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
