A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 7th/ JULY 2019.

We had a nice, long, lie in this morning, in fact one of us overslept, until the Church bells started ringing, calling the faithful to mass! After freshening up as I was on the breakfast rota we had my famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea.

Yesterday evening we had a surprise guest with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – little princess ‘Reina’ for a few hours, Daniela, who is in Paris on a Company/Business ‘ Jolly’ rang us from the ‘Moulin Rouge’ to ask us if we could have her, Lee had been asked out to a ‘Queen’ tribute concert, at short notice, back here, so he dropped her off for a few hours. This evening ‘ Scruffy’ is with us for a sleep-over and tomorrow, first thing in the morning little ‘ Miss Bella’ is being dropped off for the day, as well as on Tuesday. ’Scruffy’ will be back with us each afternoon as Adrian’s radiotherapy appointments carry on, over in Malaga,

Last night we spoke to Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada on the ‘ Skype’ video, they are both very well, but also very hot, as their ‘Air-Con’ had not been fixed after exploding the day before, it’s up to nearly 40 degs ‘C’ – and humid outside! Today they are going to meet Bill’s son, Dylan, fiancĂ©e parents, for the first time!

Next Friday they are going to New York, in their car, then onto Connecticut, where they catch a ferry at New London, back across to ‘Greenport’  Long Island, where they have friends in both places, when they return they are then going off ‘ Glamping’ with their ‘ little’ trailer, pulled by the large black ‘ SUV’ – see below!

Saturday afternoon went a little grey & overcast, but still very hot, overnight the breeze stiffened, this morning the sun is out, there are few patch clouds still about, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 28 degs+ next week is going to be a ‘ Scortcher ‘ – by Wednesday up 32 degs+ - going hotter by next weekend, still with a light breeze at times, overnight only down to 21/22 degs! Watch this space.

On the sports front; no Tennis today, it’s their day-off! The Final of the ‘ Women’s World Cup Football’ is this afternoon as USA play Holland, Stage 2 of the ‘ Tour De France’ is a ‘Team Time Trial’ ( 8 riders)  over 27 kms around Brussels.

Over in Liverpool there is a picture below of the “ Svitzer Bidston’ multi-purpose ‘Tug/Fire Boat’ – which happens to have been built in Spain!

While I’m in the docks, see below the “ Victoria Tower “ located next to the two river entrance gates of the ‘Salisbury Dock’ – it’s a ‘Grade 11’ listed Gothic Revival six-faced clock tower, built in 1848, known as the ‘ Dockers’ clock!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Poached Chicken Breasts’ – slowly cooked in a savoury cooking liquor, then left to cool, then sliced and served with a Mixed Salad, Baby Beetroot and ‘ Brenda’s Potato Salad.

After supper we will settle down to watch the final episode of “ Gentleman Jack “ – next Sunday the final series of “ Poldark “ returns, watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
