We were up before dawn this morning, after
a quick freshen up we shot off along the coast road past a dark & calm ‘Mediterranean’
with a black cloudy sky overhead, no spectacular sunrise this morning. It
picked up as the morning went on and by the time we reached home early this
afternoon it was warm & sunny.
We arrived about 20 minutes early for Brenda’s
appointment at the ‘Blood Surgery’ in the ‘ Costa Del Sol Hospital’ just past
Marbella, Brenda was taken in straight away, the department is run very efficiently.
We are now waiting to hear about her ‘ Ecogram’ and then her appointment with
the ‘ Kidney ‘ Consultant, the Hospital rings with the details/dates, watch
this space.
On the way back we called into Estepona, we started with nice 'Tostadas' & Coffee in our favourite Cafe, I then had the full works at my Barbers's, Manuel, a shampoo, cut & style, trim & dry shave, a head & scalp massage etc, I then found Brenda who had been for her cosmetic essentials, I had spotted in the sale a very nice shirt which Brenda then 'bought' for me! We then called into the ' Kitchen Shop' for a new electric' Black Pepper Grinder' as the old one has given up the ghost after too much work!
We then shot up to the ' Hypermarket' in the ' Poligamo' - we had no luck with the broken filter for the extraction hood, its was out of guarantee, they are chasing a replacement from Malaga, watch this space. Brenda could not find the ' throws' for our sofa's, that she wanted, but we did find a very nice rug for the office/studio as well as new front door mat!!

We are now back to normal after this
morning’s overcast & cloudy start to the day, the sun is out and the sky is
blue, there is a little breeze keeping it just right for the time of the year,
the rest of week is looking settled and we will find out about the weekend
weather on this afternoons main news. It's staying dry & sunny but going a little cooler over the weekend.
See the picture below of the ‘ Anglican
Cathedral ‘ in Liverpool taken from a different view on the far side.
We are having for this evenings supper the
rest of the ‘ Brochettes of Pork’ with all the trimmings, See below; tomorrow it’s going
to be ‘Grilled Chicken Wings’ with a Mixed Salad, on Friday it’s ‘ Fish Night’
and then on Saturday ‘ Steak Night’ – on Sunday I’m going to make my famous ‘ Smoked
Chicken & Broad Bean Risotto’
After supper last night we watched on ‘BBC
2’ “ The Hairy Bikers’ Chicken and Egg “ -.they were in Israel, the first dish
that they cooked was ‘ Shakshuka’ – the Israeli version of the Spanish breakfast
dish ‘ ‘Huevos Fritos’ with Mixed Vegetables & Sausages. Of course they also
made a ‘Kosher Chicken Soup with ‘ Metzo’ Balls’ ( a ‘ Thea ‘ special ! )
Michael Portillo’s “ Great Continental
Railway Journeys “ was this week over in
Morocco, he travelled across on the fast ferry from Tarifa to Tangier, Morocco
was very impressive, as he visited Fez, Rabat, Casablanca & Marrakech, all
by train on spectacular routes, as he was leaving Tangier they showed six brand
new high speed ( 320 kms per hour ) ‘
French Train Sets’ waiting to go into service on the newly built track to Casablanca,
it’s not due to open until 2018?! Finally we watched ‘ Later Live ... with Jools
Holland ‘ with his usual ‘eclectic’ mix of music.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
