I was up early this morning to welcome back
little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she’s here every day up to and including
Friday, we then took ‘ Pax ‘ out for his first walk of the day before the rain
started, we just managed to miss it! We had our normal breakfast and then
sorted ourselves out for the week ahead; early this evening we have our
appointments down at the surgery with the ‘ Chiropodist’ – hopefully the rain
will have stopped by then, as forecast, as we are walking down with ‘Pax’ Watch
this space. ' Chispa' came calling at lunchtime to play with her friends.
Its grey & overcast with black clouds
over the mountains, heavy rain is on the horizon, tomorrow it’s looking a
little cooler and dry, the rest of the week is staying dry, at the moment, we
will find out later what the weekend has in store for us!
See the picture below of old Liverpool back
in 1955! – you can see in the top right the old ‘ St, John’s Market buildings (
3 long roofs !) – then next to them on the left is the large building, ‘ The
Royal Court Theatre’ in front of ‘ Queens Square ‘ – with the roof of ‘ The Stork
Hotel’ in the bottom corner! Click on the picture to enlarge!
In front of ‘St. Georges Hall ‘ is the ‘
Empire Theatre’ and then ‘ Lime Street Station’ – in the distance on the top
left is the ‘ Adelphi Hotel’ and ‘Lewis’s Department Store’ in front of it! At
the bottom of the picture on the right is the entrance to the old ‘Mersey Tunnel’
– on the bottom left is ‘William Brown Street’ with the ‘Library, Museum &
Art Gallery’!
Many happy memories of Liverpool over the
early years, I was only 5 when I first taken into the ‘ Adelphi Hotel’ to see
my uncle who was the Head Florist and then into ‘Queens Square’ with my mum,
also a florist, to buy the flowers from the market in ‘Queens Square’!!
This evening for our supper we are having
the rest of the ‘ Lancashire Hotpot’ from last night; I’ve topped it up with
some more Lamb, Vegetables & Potatoes ready to go back in the oven this
evening. On Tuesday day I calling into our butchers for ‘ Escalope’s of Chicken
Breast’ for ‘ Schnitzels’ and diced Beef for a curry on Wednesday.
Just a quick update on the sports results;
Lewis Hamilton won the ‘ American Grand Prix’ – he has three more races to try
and keep the ‘World Championship!
Manchester City could only manage a 1-1 draw but the ‘ Match of the Day ‘
was Chelsea beating Manchester Utd 4-0 and going top of the ‘ Premiere League’ playing
sublime football as all the Utd. player’s were terrible! Mr Mourinho was not a
happy man!! Over here Real Madrid had a lucky win 2-1-
After supper we watched the next episode of
‘ Poldark’ – he was not transported to Australia, as three ‘alibi’ witness’s appeared in court, ‘Tin’
was found in the mine but an accident killed some miners, the Doctor has a
broken heart and is going away to sea, a marriage proposal was accepted, for
cash not love, there was a surprise ‘ Seduction’?! and at the end a ‘ Knock-Out
Punch ‘ from ‘ Demelza’! As it said at the end ‘ To be Continued ‘!!
