A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 4th / OCTOBER 2016.

I was up first this morning to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, ‘ Chispa’ came calling a little later, we then had our normal breakfast of fresh fruit, toast & tea and the sorted our day ahead out; Brenda then grabbed a quick shower and carried on with the jobs around the house, I shot along to the local bank for some cash from the machine and then carried on down to the butchers for some of his excellent marinated diced Pork. ( See below! )

We have another glorious day here in sunny Manilva, the sun was out early and there is just a little breeze making it very pleasant, it will get warmer by lunchtime and the rest of the week is looking fine & settled, we will find out later what the weekend has in store for us.

See the picture below of the promenade in Colwyn Bay this morning, is that the ‘Moffatt’s’ on their final walk before they leave on their travels?!

I first made a fresh batch of my famous ‘ Tomato Salsa ‘ I sweat off the diced Onions & Red Peppers with lots of chopped Garlic, add a dash of Lea & Perrins and Tabasco, a teaspoon of Sugar and a dash of Malt Vinegar,  then the secret ingredients with a ‘slug’ of Red Wine, then I add  the diced Plum Tomatoes which I season with Mixed Herbs & Tomato Frito, finally I use a good strong Vegetable stock and adjust the seasoning to taste as it cooks off, after cooling a little I blend the salsa after checking the consistency, see the picture below of the finished product!

I then got this evenings supper on the go, it was requested by Brenda earlier, “ Brochettes of Pork “ – the marinated diced Pork is skewerd with diced Onion, Red & Green Peppers, Button Mushrooms & Chorizo, see below, to be cooked on the griddle plate this evening , they are served on Basmati Rice with finely sliced Green Beans on the side and of course a sauce boat of my famous Tomato Salsa!

Last night we channel hopped before watching the next episode of ‘ Cold Feet ‘ all the five main characters have excellent story lines, the programme races along as the story unfolds, the acting and writing are also excellent, it’s all building up to a tremendous climax, hopefully there will be another series.

Tomorrow morning we will be up with the birds as we are going across to the ‘Hospital’ past Marbella as Brenda has an appointment for special Blood tests, at 8-50 am, on the way back we are going into Estepona,  I’m going to my Barber, Manuel’s, for the full works and Brenda has some essential shopping, hopefully she will collect our carriage clock from the Jewelry Repair Shop, we are then going up to the ‘Poligamo’ to the ‘Hypermarket’ to report the problem with one of our filters on the extraction hood and also some window shopping!  Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
