We were both up early this morning and
after a quick breakfast we shot down to Sabinillas to the solicitors to
re-negotiate the contract on the house which we have not been able to do so
before this week due to Brenda being indisposed; its up for renewal in February
and I had agreed verbally with them, we gave them our maintenance/repair list
which has the various damp problems in the bathroom/office/main bedroom &
lounge, all of the four shutters need attention on the front of the house, various
small maintenance jobs around the house and most importantly we must have a new
electric oven for the main kitchen ASAP!! Watch this space.
When we came back I rang a new car hire
company in Marbella that Carlos used last week, which he highly recommended, a
very helpful lady has arranged a ‘Nissan 7x Seater’- fully comprehensive etc.- for the two weeks when the folks are here, its a ‘LOT’ cheaper and better than the normal 5/6
seater that I had on order from our regular car hire company!( now cancelled)

Today is another glorious day down here on
the ‘Costa Del Sol’ It was already hot as we set off down through the vine
fields to Sabinillas this morning, the sky is bright blue with no clouds, there
is no breeze and by lunchtime it will be very hot, the rest of the week is
going to be more of the same, we are getting the fans out around the house
ready for the prolonged hot weather! See the pictures below of Llandudno this
morning and the Albert Dock in Liverpool.
In ‘
Doggy World Heaven’ this week ‘Reina’ is back with us now for the four days from
Tuesday to Friday inc and on Saturday ‘ Scruffy’ is with us for a sleep over; of
course ‘ Chispa’ come calling in at different times during the day & evening
to see her friends and us!
This evening we have our appointments down
at the surgery with the Chiropodist for our monthly check ups before supper; ‘
Cold Roast Chicken’ & twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ with Mixed Salad. The menus for
the rest of the week are being chosen later. Mario Jnr is with us on Tuesday &
Thursday evening for his English conversation class with us.
Tomorrow morning we are shooting across to
Estepona, first thing, as I need to get my haircut etc at the Barbers, we are also
taking our ‘Carriage Clock’ back to the jewellers ( second time!) to get it
re-checked/repaired again; we are then going up to the ‘Poligamo –Industrial Estate’
to find a suitable electric oven and get some prices quotes! We will then carry, if we have the time, to ‘La CaƱada’ above Marbella for some shopping, trousers for Brenda and ‘ Jesus’ Sandles for me. Watch this space.
Yesterday evening we watched the ‘ Grand Prix
of Monaco’ which turned out to be the most exciting ‘Grand Prix’ in ages as
Lewis Hamilton won in a rain effected race, he’s the finest wet weather driver
and he cut the drivers title deficit to Rosberg to 24 points! We then caught,
for the first time, over on BBC 1 the excellent series “ Wallander “ about a
eponymous Swedish police inspector played by Kenneth Branagh, its very gripping
and the atmosphere created with the low light filming is mesmeric!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
