A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 27^th MAY 2016.

I was up early this morning as the goods delivery men slide down all the stores to the local shop at the bottom of our street on pallets, then the ‘Council’ street cleaning machine came up the street, no need for the alarm! ‘Reina’ arrived as usual and I then shot off on my travels for the weekly shopping down in Sabinillas through the ever growing vine fields. After calling into the bank for some cash I stopped at the ‘English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers before going along to ‘ Mercadona’ for our main shop, I then went along the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers and some new wall plants.

Its even hotter today as the breeze has died away, the sun was out early and its now getting very warm & sunny, the weekend is forecasted for more of the same and next week is now starting to look good also. See the pictures below of the entrance to ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa’ last night and the ‘ Port of Liverpool’ Building on the Pier Head this morning.

At lunchtime we are going up to ‘ Bar Castillo’ for a light ‘ Tapas’ lunch and a cool drink sat under the large new umbrellas,,we had fresh local ' Boquerones ( Anchovies ) deep-fried with a local Tomato salad on the side,Juan has a very nice new ‘Honda’ 125 cc scooter that he was showing me this morning when I went along to the Chemists in Calle Mar for some face cream for Brenda
.

For supper this evening we are having ‘ Fish & Chips’ with Mushy Peas, the fish is ‘Battered Hake Fillets’ from Iceland and the chips are ‘Potato Wedges’ with their skin on from the same source!! Tomorrow night is going to be ‘Grilled Entrecote Steak’ then cut ‘ French’ style, Sunday is yet to be decided.

We have a quiet weekend so we are taking things very easy as next week is starting look busy as we are out and about on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ getting ready for the arrival of the folks on the 13^th June; this Sunday its the ' Corpus Christi' festival taking place along Calle Mar, we have a meeting with the solicitors on Monday morning, ‘ Barber’s & shopping in Estepona on Tuesday, Physiotherapist on Thursday afternoon, here in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ little princess ‘ Reina’ is with us from Monday to Friday and ‘ Scruffy’ is back next Saturday for a sleep over and finally Mario Jnr. is calling in on Tuesday & Thursday evenings for some more conversation practise ready for his exams in June! Over the weekend of the 4/5 th June here in the village its the ' Romeria de Manilva'
