THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM A CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA;

A VERY CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 31 st/ MARCH 2016.

I was up as usual to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, we then had ‘ Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ with mugs of steaming tea to get us going, I then shot along to the Chemists in Calle Mar for Brenda’s tablets and on the way back called into our local shop at the bottom of our street for some fresh vegetables.

I then got this evenings supper on the go “ Braised Steak in a Red Wine, Mushroom & Onions Sauce” which we are having with Cabbage with Alselgas & local Carrot Batons and Brenda’s famous ‘ Mashed Potato’ – the ‘Vegetable Chef’- is back! ( for short bursts only! ) See blow!

Brenda then made her way upstairs, slowly, so as she can have a shower, thank god that we had the handle installed on the wall inside the bath, it makes it a lot easier! If she is feeling OK she is then going to catch up with a little of the ironing!!

Tomorrow morning when I’m out on my travels for the weekly shopping I’m going to call into the surgery to make an appointment to review/update Brenda’s prescriptions as well as the Doctor giving her feet the once over! Watch this space.

This morning the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue, overnight a stiff breeze came along, as forecast, so its ‘ crisp’ as you are out & about; by lunchtime its due to reach 23 degs, so we can’t complain, over the weekend and into next week its staying the same and getting a little warmer.

The picture below were taken by a very good friend & ex customer ‘Nigel Roberts’ who has just retired after many years of running the main ‘Newsagents’ in Llandudno, they show Conwy Marina and across to Deganwy, the Pier in Llandudno, Pensarn Beach just past Abergele and Llandudno at its best!

For the rest of the day we are taking things easy and relaxing then after supper we will settle down to watch the second episode of ‘ Line of Duty’ on BBC 2, last night we found a good film to watch “ The American “ from 2010 a thriller starring George Clooney, Thekla Reuten, Violante Placido, Irina Bjorklund & Paolo Boneacelle! – ‘ Gorgeous George’ at his menacing best as a contract killer/gunsmith- all the action takes place in the mountains above Rome. Watch it right up to the end!

A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 30^th / MARCH 2016.

‘Reina’ arrived this morning as usual and we then had our breakfast before sorting ourselves out for the day ahead, Brenda is taking things very easy and relaxing, meanwhile I shot up to the roof patio to bring in yesterdays washing, I then took the rubbish up to the bins in Calle Mar before watering all the plants in the wall pots and window sill. I read the electric & water metres as we are missing a electric bill at the moment.

The sun was out early and the sky is blue, its clear & dry and there is no breeze, another perfect day here in sunny Manilva, the forecast for the next few days and now over the weekend is staying the same, the threatened rain has moved on so we are in for a nice settled period down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’!

We have now sorted the menu’s out for the rest of the week, this evening we are having ‘ Cold Roast Lamb’ with a ‘ fry-up’ of the leftover vegetables along with the last of the ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes, tomorrow its going to be ‘ Braised Steak in a Red Wine Onion Sauce’ with Cabbage & ‘ Mashed Potato, Friday its ‘ Fish Night’ and on Saturday as per normal ‘ Steak’ before Sunday and something simple!

Last night we watched the ‘ International Football’ as England lost to Holland 1-2 and did not play very well, back to normal then! We then channel hopped and watched nothing in particular; I’m doing the weekly shopping on Friday morning as its now clear & dry, ‘ Scruffy’ is back with us on Saturday for a short time in the afternoon

See above a picture Blog of the inside of the site next to our house, I managed to get a sneak preview as the workmen were doing the final ' snag lists' - there are four two-bedroomed apartments finished to a very hight standard, see the doors! On the roof terrace they have installed solar panels and all the floors are tilled in Marble, the windows are double glazed and the bathrooms & small kitchens are also finished with top of the range goods, from the roof terrace as you look down you can see in one of the pictures are new small 'roof patio' !! They are painting and touching up all the white paint on our house and all of our neighbours houses at the same time !!
