We started the day with a nice lie in this
morning as the village is very quiet, the sun was out early and the birds were
singing! For our breakfast we had Brenda’s famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast
with a mug of steaming tea; we then sorted out our week ahead, last night I
phoned Jane to catch up with their arrangements for their short brake at the
start of the week.
Firstly Jane told us about some problems
close to home , Nan, her dear Mum, has had a nasty fall and broken her hip
& arm, very badly, this after her ‘Heart’ scare over Xmas, she is now back
at her home receiving round the clock treatment after a very worrying time, meanwhile
David had been in hospital for some nasty ‘check ups’ with an ongoing back
problem, also of course there are the usual unrelated everyday work problems of
running the ‘Award’ winning ever expanding ‘ New Moon Pub Company’ and Jane’s
Bakery business! So they are ready for a nice, quiet, relaxing couple of days
away down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’!!
They are not flying into Malaga Airport
until 8-30 pm tomorrow night, they have arranged a hire car and will drive
across to the ‘Estepona H10 Princess’ **** and crash out, we are going to catch
up with them on Tuesday morning and then give them a nice relaxing time ,
staying local, with some good food & wine and of course a friendly ear to
chat and catch up with all their news etc.
So tomorrow morning we are going
across to Estepona, first thing, so as I can go to my Barber, Manuel, for a
trim & face massage, check on the repair to our Carriage clock, do a little
essential ‘Sales’ window shopping, go up to the car hypermarket for oil/coolant
and then check out the ear phones/mikes at the computer shop that supplied the
new system!
Tuesday & Wednesday we will be spending
the time with the folks, on Thursday ‘Reina’ is back with us for the day as well
as on Friday so we will do our weekly shopping on Saturday morning.
Today we taking things easy, again, and are
going to shower and freshen ourselves up, find something to wear and then relax
for the rest of the day in front of the TV. Its dry and clear this morning then
by lunchtime with the sun out is will reach the heady heights of 19 degs! The
next few days are looking settled and dry & crisp with some more of the sun
around.
On the sports front yesterday Liverpool
scored in the 95th minute to win 4-5 in a very exciting match
against Norwich, Manchester City were lucky to come way from West Ham with a
2-2 draw and over here Barcelona beat Malaga 1-2 – just! The Horse Racing was
very exciting on the excellent coverage on Channel 4, next week its from the
home of Jump Racing, Cheltenham.
For our supper this evening we are having
flattened ‘Breast of Turkey’ pan-fried in foaming Lime Butter with Savoury
Basmati Rice, whole Green Beans and a rich, creamy Mushroom sauce, last night
we channel hopped and ended up watching back to back films into the wee small
hours!
Thoughts for the Day, See above.
