I was up first this morning to welcome back
‘Reina’ for the day, she’s also with us on Thursday, she is no problem and at
this time of the year she spends most of the time inside her duvet in the
office; its overcast & damp again today with the forecast for rain later,
which is a shame as its the ‘Three Kings ‘ parade along Calle Mar this
evening?! Over the next few days the weather is settling down and going a
little warmer and keeping dry, for now.
After our regular breakfast of ‘Weetabix’
toast, fresh fruit & tea I rang our friend Joyce up in ‘Alhaurin el Grande’
to see when we could get together , we are meeting her this coming Friday in
Puerto Banus and then going along to ‘Cocomo’ for lunch; I rang and booked a
nice table, we are looking forward to a good catch up and gossip and a couple
of drinks!
Speaking of friends, we only found out
yesterday that Brian has had a bad start to the New Year; on Saturday evening
two cars outside his apartment block, below the church at the bottom of the
village, caught fire and the front of the block was badly fire damaged and all
the windows were blown out, as far as we know his top floor flat was not affected,
he’s at the moment staying at the ‘Manilva Green Aparthotel’ Then later down in
Duquesa Port he was ‘mugged’ outside a cash point by a gang!! Our thoughts go
out to him and of course anything we can do to help, you only have to ask, ‘Big
Bri’ it can only get better in 2016!!
We are now going next Wednesday over to
Estepona & Marbella for some sales shopping, this Friday morning we are at
the surgery for our check ups, before we go out at lunchtime, so we doing our
main shopping down in Sabinillas on Saturday morning.
After sorting our week ahead out I made
with the help of the Assistant Chef ( Brenda!) a large batch of my famous ‘Minestrone
Soup’ My Tomato Salsa is used as the base and I then add all the ingredient’s
as I cook them off, over 20 different vegetables, Pulses, Pastas etc.- along
with my secret ‘ ingredients’! For our supper this evening we are having Cold
Sliced Boiled Ham, a small piece that Brenda cooked last night, with assorted vegetables
and some twice-cooked ‘Chips’
Last night before and after out supper we
had a mainly ‘Quiz’ night over on BBC 1 & BBC 2; ‘ Pointless’ ‘Eggheads’ ‘University
Challenge’ and ‘A Question of Sport’! In between we watched a new series of ‘Great
British Railway Journeys’ with Michael
Portillo and finally a two-part series of ‘Silent Witness’ with Emilia Fox in
the main part, it used to be at the start over 20 years ago ‘Amanda Burton’?! It
was very gripping and we will watch the second episode this evening.
PS; The painters on the site have just painted ( White ) our old roof terrace, now a Patio' in the sky! They also painted the iron window frame black, we gave them a six-pack of 'Cruzcampo'!! We are now going to put some wall tiles and plant pots up along the two walls, watch this space. See the pictures below;
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
