I got up to let ‘Scruffy’ back with us for
the day and we then all went back to bed for another little lie in, he’s in
fine form after having the ‘Cut’ earlier in the month, he’s great company and
is a real character, this morning its clear & dry with the sun just breaking
through, by lunchtime it will be 19 degs, the forecast over the weekend is for
more of the same and even getting a little warmer by Monday, good news as David
& Jane are due to arrive for three days!
After breakfast Brenda took ‘ Chispa’ down
to the local market by the sports ground for some fresh flowers, Scruffy stayed
with me for his breakfast, meanwhile I made this evening supper , my special “
Fish Pie “ made with local Salmon, Cod, Hake, Mussels, Crab, Gambas &
Prawns, the base of the sauce is a White Wine ‘Mirepoix’ of Onions, Leeks Celery
& Carrots along with some diced Mushrooms and Smoked Bacon, my secret
ingredients and a good Fish stock made from the poaching water for all the
fish! I adjust the seasoning and consistency and Brenda then tops the filling
with her famous ‘ Mashed Potato’ ready
to go in the oven this evening. See below.
Last night after supper we watched a good
film directed by Martin Scorsese “ The Departed “ from 2006, its a American
crime drama based on facts and takes place in Boston, with Leonardo DiCaprio,
Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Walberg, Martin Sheen, Vera Farmiga, Anthony
Anderson and Alex Baldwin. One to watch right up to the end!!
PS; I’m still struggling to get over the ‘Flu/
Cough/Cold’ and Brenda is trying not to catch it, watch this space!
Thoughts for the Day; See above,
