TUESDAY 14th/ JULY 2015. " BASTILLE DAY "
I was up early this morning to welcome back little Princess 'Reina' for the day; before she arrived I watched the final 'Bull Run' in Pamplona at the end of the 'Festival San Fermin' The workmen are arriving earlier and leaving by 3-00 pm as it gets too hot to work. It looks like there is going to be another floor (4) going up before they put the roof on!
Later in the morning 'Chispa' came along to play with 'Reina' around the house as its too hot to take them for walks as the pavements are hot enough to fry a 'Campo Egg' on!
We had a little lie in before breakfast and then showered, we either shower first thing in the morning or last thing at night at this time of the year; its very hot & sunny all the time now,normal for July, but we now have another 'Heatwave' - the second,so far in July, which is coming across from Africa making it even hotter - the high 30 s for us and inland the high 40 s - at night it only drops by 10 degs! See the map of Spain below;
Den & Josie are off on their travels today,they are going up to Cordoba ( 45 degs+!) for two days, they are travelling there and back by using the " Bla Bla Car' car shearing site, they are back by Thursday and are hoping to go down to Puerto Duquesa in the afternoon to follow the 'Festival Virgen Del Carmen' - the Patron Saint of Fishermen,when the two Tableau's are taken out to sea.
This afternoon I will be watching Stage 10 of the'Tour de France' the first mountain stage in the Pyrenees when they go from Tarbes up to the final climb of the day,15 kms to the top of the 1/5 'La Pierre-Saint-Martin on 'Bastille Day' Watch out for a 'Frenchman' trying to win the stage! Nor if Chris Froome in the race leaders Yellow Jersey has any thing to do with it!!
Chris Froome won the stage and destroyed the rest of the field in an incredible/stunning ride up the climb leaving Contador,Val Verde & Nibali in his weak!!See below;
For our supper this evening we are having a 'Soft Mixed Grill' with a small Gammon Steak, English Pork Sausage,Smoked Bacon,Tomato & Baby Mushrooms with more Garden Peas and this time a Baked Potato.Not forgetting the 'HP' sauce!
We will try and go up on the roof terrace for our 'Happy Hour' cocktails and to catch up with our reading before settling down after supper to find something to watch on the TV after the news.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
