MONDAY 20th/ JULY 2015.
It was a very hot & sticky night as the temperature is 26/27 degs - uncomfortable to say the least, so this morning we managed a surprise lie in as the workmen didn't arrive and 'Reina' was not due until 9-30 am - she's with us every day this week - 'Chispa' came calling early this morning to see her,we have now left a small gap at the bottom of the front door shutters so she can come and go as she pleases!
After our regular breakfast of 'Weetabix' toast & tea we sorted ourselves out for the week ahead; on the menu front we are not making plans, just finding something each day, this evening we are having a little 'Fish Horsdeuvre Platter'using the bits of fish we have around,Gambas,Crab,Crouquettes,Breaded Langustines etc.
We have nothing happening during the week,so far.so we will take each day as it comes; on the 'Chef's' night off we will go out for a Tapas supper up in Calle Mar then on Sunday its the 'Festival de Santa Ana' - the Patron Saint of the village when there are services in the 'Santa Ana Church' during the day & early evening before the procession of the Tableau led by the 'Manilva Brass Band' a little later in the evening which we are going to watch from under the Sonbrajo up at 'Bar Rojas',
We have a little problem at the moment with our water consumption,Brenda checks the Water & Electricity meters all the time and keeps records of all the readings and usage; the water readings over the last week have shown that we are using more than double what we normally use per day and by the week, we have not changed our routine and one day we stopped using the water and it still went up!
See the latest picture taken by Josie from her back roof terrace showing the latest work on the top of the building, our small roof terrace is in the bottom left of the buliding, we can't at the moment work out where the roof is going to be?!
This morning I rang the solicitors and asked her to check with the 'Water Board' as the bill is not in our name, to get them to come and check the water Meter, at the same time I asked her to get in touch with the Building Company to ask were they have taken their water tap from in the site and also to confirm where the Mains Water pipe is - if its under the Huge Weight of the new Concrete Block being constructed around us,have they taken that under consideration??!! Watch this space.
Today's Stage 16 of the 'Tour de France' is from Bourg-de-Peage to Gap at the foot of the Alps over 201 kms - its a 'Rest Day' tomorrow before they hit the Alps on Wednesday; sadly yesterday the 'Manx Missile'was not firing on all jets & the German rider Greipel won his third sprint stage in this years Tour!
We will have our 'Happy Hour' cocktails as usual befor supper and then after we will catch up with all the news, sport & weather details before finding something to watch.
PS; One of our Pensions arrived in our Spanish Bank AC this morning and was up on last months as the Euro closed/opened at its highest for over 7 years!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
