SUNNY MANILVA THIS WEEKEND

SATURDAY 6th/ JULY 2013.

Well we awoke this morning in a different place, upstairs in the guest bedrooms! The sun reaches the top floor and comes in through the shutters earlier in the morning as it comes above the roof tops! We are in for a hot weekend in sunny Manilva, the good part is that we sill have the ‘Levante’breeze that keeps it very pleasant along the coast and up the in the hills in Manilva; the rest of the hot spots in the country are up to 40 degrees and above while we are still in the mid-30s!

Brenda is showering and shampooing her hair early before it gets too hot and I’ am in the office getting all hot and bothered as I’am struggling to get live coverage on the PC of ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’! I’ve tried all my options and for some unknown reason no joy!

I can’t find out if the ‘Classic Car Rally’ is coming up through the village at lunchtime so we are ready to dash out, the camera is re-charged so watch out for the pictures later?! We hope! The rally has just arrived so I will put the pictures on later after the Rugby!!

SPORTS UPDATE;

It is another big weekend of sport starting off with the Rugby Union third test over in Sydney between the Australians and the British & Irish Lions – the deciding game in the series – 1-1 so it’s all to play for! I will watch it on the large PC on my sports channel coverage, hopefully! The Lions scrum and Jonny Sexton are murdering the Aussies - 3-19 after 27mins! 13-19 at the start of the second half.

FINAL SCORE  AUSTRALIA 16 BRITISH & IRISH LIONS 41 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Wallabies have just been mauled by a " Pride " of Lions !! Unbelievable,Stunning,Brilliant,Legends all ! It is their first series win in sixteen years !!

Then I will catch the qualifying sessions of the ‘German Grand Prix’ from the Nurburing on the large screen TV downstairs on Spanish TV at lunchtime.Hamilton is on the pole position for tomorrows German Grand Prix( Vettel has never won his home Grand Prix! )

Then this afternoon I will watch the ‘Tour de France’ stage 8 from Castres to Ax 3 Domains( A ski station ) over 195kms which I can catch on the excellent coverage on TDP, the main sports channel on TVE1; today’s stage is the first in the Pyrenees with the classic climb of the ‘Col De Palmeres’over 15kms up the 1/8 gradient near the finish before they end up at the top of the last climb up to ‘Ax 3 Domains’

A absolutely incredible ride from Chris Froome as he jumped away on the final 5kms of the climb and left his main rivals behind;he has just crossed the line and has more importantly taken the Yellow jersey and leads the tour by over 1min and 51secs! and his main rival Contador who is back in 7th place. His Australian team mate Richie Porte was second and is also second in the general classification.

Tonight we are having our ‘Saturday Night Special ‘of ‘Steak a la Plancha’with sautéed Mushrooms and Onions, finely sliced Green Beans and of course crisp twice-cooked chips, my steak toped with a fried Campo Egg! Then it will be time to watch a film.

Thought for the Day; See above.
