SUNNY MANILVA AND SABINILLAS TODAY

TUESDAY 16^th/JULY 2013.

FESTIVAL OF THE “ VIRGEN DEL CARMEN ” 2013.

Today all over Andalucia they celebrate the ‘Saints Day’ – the patron saint of fishermen with Masses,Bands,singing and dancing as they carry the Tableau around the fishing ports of the villages up and down the coast; it is then placed on a ‘Jabegas’ ( Fishing Boat ) and taken around the port – rockets and fireworks are then let off!

Here in sunny Manilva it all happens down in Sabinillas and the port of Duquesa this afternoon and early this evening, today has been very hot and as it all takes place down on the beach it is very hot and gets rather overwhelming as the locals celebrate!

Brenda met the Mayor,Antonia down in Sabinillas this morning and was talking to her about the day ahead.
