MONDAY 29th/
JULY 2013.
Well this
morning it’s a hot one in sunny Manilva, the ‘Levante’ breeze has dropped and
the forecast for the week is looking very good and getting hotter; good news
for Paul and his family who have settled into their villa which turns out to be
closer to us, just along the coast road with views to die for across to Africa
and Gibraltar. We have booked for Thursday lunch at ‘Venta Garcia’ and are
going in the morning to find the villa and show them around the area! Sadly Paul has already made other arrangements so it's going to have to have to be Thursday as we are out on Wednesday morning picking Gillian up from the bus station in Marbella after her return flight into Malaga!
Last weeks
problems getting into ‘La Linea’was actually the start of the Spanish
Authorities ‘Choking’ the border in both directions, causing massive tailbacks
in the 30c+ heat! Over the weekend there were SIX HOUR queues to get out of Gibraltar totally bringing it to a standstill
– all over the sovereignty claims to the British Territory . A friend that works in Gibraltar was very lucky on Friday as he was
walking out for a change and made it across with not many problems!
This
morning we have just come off the Skype video after talking to Zoë and Graham
over in Stockport, we had a good catch up with all their news and found out why
Zoë’s birthday card to Brenda did not arrive, just one small mistake in the
address, probably the same reason that Jane’s card with money in it for a
bottle of champagne did not reach us also!
Today is a
washing day in the house so Brenda is on her third wash! The good news also is that Brenda's back is a lot better this morning.Meanwhile I’ am up in
the office as you can see on the WWW. This evening for supper we are having
Steak and salad with some sauté Potatoes, last nights meal of cold Chicken and
all the various salads went down very well and Mano and Anna were very relaxed
as Mano was enjoying his two days off work.
Thought for
the Day; See above.
