SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY

SUNDAY 7th/ JULY 2013.

We started today with a little lie and then after our tea, toast and fresh Orange juice we set too and got the last Sunday roast on the go for the next couple of months, back on the menu in the middle of September! Roast Lemon Chicken with a mixed Herb stuffing, finger licking pan-gravy and Goose Fat Roast Potatoes, from Brenda’s department it is all the classics; Cauliflower and Broccoli florets in a three-Cheese sauce, crushed Carrots and baby Turnips, Cabbage with Alselgas,Grden Peas and baby New Potatoes in their skins! Mano and Anna are joining us later as Mano is off for two days after his five shifts working at the Manilva Green Aparthotel.

We then freshened our self’s up and just as we finished getting ready to for a walk Anna called in for a gossip and chat; so it was then time to catch up with sport, the ‘Grand Prix’ from Germany was just starting and the ‘Tour de France’ stage 9 was already on the road – both on Spanish TV.

In the middle of following both of then at the same time we had surprise visitors; Anna’s cousin Debbie and her husband Dave came knocking on our front door! They have grabbed a few days away over the weekend and are staying in a friends apartment in Puerto Banus, they had not told Anna so when she left us and went up our street they were sat in Bar Rojas eating Paella! A nice surprise that has made our day!! Nice to see you both
in sunny Manilva.

Brenda is now up on the roof terrace working on her all-over tan, I don’t know which parts are getting the attention today – the mind boggles! Next week Brenda has decided to paint the roof terrace as the special out-side paint is on offer at the ‘Ferreteria’s’- Hardware shop- down in Sabinillas, watch this space as it will have to be done in the early morning or later in the evening!

Meanwhile both of the sports on the TV have finished; in the ‘German Grand Prix’ Vettle won, his first win in his home race! Over in the ‘Pyrenees’ in stage 9 of the ‘Tour de France’it was won by the Irish rider Dan Martin on the ride over five Cols’ from Saint Girons to Bageres de Bigorre over 169kms which finished with the climb up the ‘Houquette D’Ansizan’ But all the excitement came early in the race when Froome’s ‘SkyTeam’ was decimated when their rider Peter Kennaugh crashed into a deep ditch as he was forced off the road by another rider, in the melee all the sky rider’s were left behind and Froome’s right hand man and second in the Tour Richie Porte was also left behind and came in over 12 mins down; this meant that Froome was on his own with all his rivals and had to fight to the finish to keep them at bay! He retained the Yellow jersey but now the Spanish rider Alexander Valverde is second 1min 21 secs behind.

As I’ am typing this Andy Murray has won the first two sets 6-4 7-5 ! Come on Andy !! 6-4 in the 3rd set so;

ANDY MURRAY HAS JUST WON WIMBLEDON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE FIRST ENGLISH? MAN TO WIN SINCE FRED PERRY IN 1936!!!!!!!!!

So tonight we are looking forward to our ‘ Last Roast’ with Mano and Anna for a while.

Thought for the Day; See above.
