SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY

SATURDAY 13^th/ JULY 2013.

This morning we had a nice lie in back in our bedroom after the bed frame was fixed; at the moment I’ am watching ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ on the small PC,I’ve managed to get the TV channel working again after last weeks hick-up!

I've just made for our lunchtime snack a classic dish from the past that I learned to make over 50 years ago ! " Salad Nicoise " with local Green Bean from our neighbours Campo garden this morning,diced Potato,Olives,Capers,Tomato Concasse and bound together with a classic Vinaigrette dressing- see the picture above!

Brenda is getting some washing on the go as there is a little ‘Levante’ breeze this morning and mopping all the Marble floors around the house; I ‘am up to date on the WWW and will read the news on the BBC News page and the on-line papers later. Later this morning I will watch the ‘Motor GP’ practice/qualifying from the ‘Sachsenring’ in Germany, yesterday Jorge Lorenzo cashed in practice and damaged the same shoulder again, he has bent the plate that was inserted after the last crash two weeks ago!Pedrosa also crashed and has damaged his collarbone!!

Then I will watch the ‘Tour de France’ stage 14 which is a hilly stage from Saint-Pourcain-sur-Sioule’ to the second city of France -  Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France, over 191kms, a little ‘Warm-up’ ready for the first big one on Sunday; Froome is under pressure as his ‘Sky’ team is struggling and Contador’s team is ‘Flying’ – so it will be attacks all day and especially tomorrow as Contador attempts to take the Yellow jersey!

The surprise winner was the Italian rider Matteo Trentin from the 'Omega-Pharma-Quickstep' team,a team mate of Cavendish's ! No change in the overall standings before tomorrows big one " Mont Ventoux " !!

This evening for supper its ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with Sautéed Mushrooms and Onions, finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked chips – mine topped with a fried Campo Egg! Saturday night is a good film night so we will find a good film to watch – I’ am on a roll at the moment after the last two nights!
