MANILVA CHELTENHAM BARCELONA ON TUESDAY

TUESDAY 12th/ MARCH 2013,

On Tuesday morning after the workmen had finished we are still not able to have a shower until Wednesday morning to allow the paint and grout to dry; it was a showery day and a lot colder, the temperature has gone down 7 degs. over night and the forecast for the rest of the week is sun and around 16/17 degs! We are waiting to hear from Tim and Thea as they are due over some time this week and are staying in a friend’s villa above Torremolinos, we think?! In the morning I made a ‘Minestrone Soup’ using my Tomato Salsa and very fine diced 13 different vegetables, White Beans, Lentills, Pasta Spirals and Potatoes! At the same I made for lunch ‘ Pasta in Tomato Salsa con Porco!’using the last of the Pork, diced.

It was then time to retire to the office upstairs to watch the racing from Cheltenham; I had the full Ch4 coverage of the start of the Cheltenham Festival on full screen on the small PC for the first time; it was very exciting and the atmosphere on the course was terrific, the racing was also very special as Ruby Walsh on ‘Hurricane Fly’ won the ‘ Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy’ and two more races at the same time on the first day – three more days to come !!

In the evening after supper of Griddled Liver with Smoked Bacon,Tomato,Saute Onions and Brenda’s famous Mashed Potatoes( Small dish for the diet) we watched the football; Barcelona 4 AC Milan 0 ( 4-2 aggregate) Magical Messi made a mockery of the Italian giants as he scored twice before 96,000 spectators at the Nu Camp ! – the final 16 round of the ‘UEFA Champions League’ Come on Malaga tonight against Porto !!

PS; Malaga beat Porto 2-0 (2-1 agg ) and are in the last eight along with two other Spanish teams !

Thought for the Day;

High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.
