MANILVA CARDIFF AND MELBOURNE

SATURDAY 16th/ MARCH 2013.

After a good lie in, a luxury that we enjoy, as all our life we never had the time in our 24/7 lifestyle we got our act together and planned the weekend ahead; no call from Tim and Thea to go over to Torremolinos for lunch, so far, so its onwards and upwards. Brenda is catching up with her chores around the house and I retired to the office for a day of sport; First on the small PC I watched the BBCTV coverage of the Grand Prix Qualifying from a rather wet Melbourne which was eventually called off! Next I had on the large PC the early kick-off game at Everton v Manchester City, Everton won 2-0 and when I spoke to Brian in Finland on ‘Viber’ he was rather happy to say the least! At the same time on the small PC I was watching the BBCTV coverage from sunny Rome of the rugby, Italy v Ireland – sadly Ireland lost 22-15 – the pictures above show both PCs on full screen!

Later in the afternoon I caught the Southampton v Liverpool match, which in fact I wished that I didn’t as Liverpool lost 3-1 and played terrible. It was then time for the big one, Wales’s v England at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for the ‘Grand Slam’ of the RBS 6 Nations Championship. David and Jane had gone to see the match as you can see in the pictures above; England’s “ Bubble was Burst ” following their record defeat by Wales 30-3 – Wales demolished England who up to then were unbeaten in the 6 Nations and had beaten the ‘All Blacks’ in November! Wales as a result retained the 6 Nations title, man for man they were better and played with total conviction – it was breathtaking rugby of the highest standard by Wales. Cardiff and Wales went mad!!

In the evening after our supper of dry-griddled Steak with Chips we settle down to watch a film after catching the highlights of Real Madrid beating Mallorca 5 -2. It was Jason Statham in an all action Cops v Chinese Triad movie called “ War ”from 2007.

Thoughts for the Day;

Success in any endeavor requires single-minded attention to detail and total concentration. Concentration is the secret of strength.
