MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEK

MONDAY 4th/TUESDAY 5th/ MARCH 2013.

Well on Monday morning as the forecast had predicted the rains came, as usual here in sunny Manilva when it rains, it rains hard and long, in fact it has not stopped as I’ am typing this on Tuesday afternoon! We can’t complain as it is the first in over nearly five months, one side effect is that the temperatures has gone up to 19degs!! We had an at home day and caught up with chores about the house,Cheta still comes crashing in and so we dry her and she stays and plays around the house with her tennis ball and the wet towel as you can see in the pictures below of her laid out on the kitchen floor. Later in the morning I made a batch of my now famous Tomato salsa which we put away in the deep freeze and use it when we want for Pasta sauces, Meatballs, with fried fish dishes, Ratatouilles and soups, watch out for homemade ‘Minestrone’ later! In the evening for supper we had a nice light and simple meal; flattened Chicken Fillets, pan fried on the griddle and served with Sauté Potatoes and sliced Green Beans. We then caught up with news on TVE and later channel hopped.

This morning, Tuesday we have been across to the hospital on the far side of Marbella for my appointment with the Kidney consultant; we stopped in Sabinillas for petrol and then tried to go to our bank but we could not find anywhere to park because the streets are full due to the road repairs to Bank street, we called into ‘Super Sol’ for some English essentials and then stopped at our bank in Estepona.Right on time at the hospital, as usual we went in to see a very nice Kidney consultant who spent a lot of time going over things with us; she has adjusted my tablets and arranged for some more blood and urine test in a couple of months before my next visit for a further check up; my reading on the Kidney functions are a little high and my blood pressure is a little low so it is time to go on a diet, cutting out all the things that I like! Watch this space. Tonight we are having Pork Cutlet with Boulangere Potatoes for supper and will then watch the Manchester Utd. v Real Madrid match on TVE. It was a great game and Real Madrid won 1-2 on the night and 2-3 on agg. Sir Alex was not a happy bunny when Nani was sent off !One night this week we are going around to Andy’s and Marie’s for supper but we don’t know when as the keep changing his shifts at the hotel - Andy has just called and we are going around on Wednesday evening.The late film after the match was an all excitement/action/thriller called " Sahara" from 2005 with Matthew McConaughey and the always watchable Penelope Cruz.

PS; I have just arranged two tickets for the 'Euroleague' Basketball match this Friday Evening at the 'Martin Carpena Sports Palace' in Malaga between 'Unicaja Malaga and Panathinaikos' - 3 euros per ticket with the coach - sponsored by the council ! This time we will make it !!

Thoughts for the Day;

He, who has health, has hope. And he who has hope has everything. He who takes medicine and neglects to diet wastes the skill of his doctors.
