MANILVA AT THE END OF THE WEEK

SUNDAY 10th/MARCH 2013.

We were awoken by a very severe rain storm on Sunday morning; it passed over and then went fine and sunny if a little cold.Mano and Anna called in at lunchtime, we had not seen them in two weeks, as they were passing and picked up the papers but did not stay. We had got the roast on the go and Brenda had prepared all her vegetables to go with the Loin of Pork and I made my now famous finger licking Pan Gravy.

In the afternoon I connected to the sports channels on both PCs so as I could follow the Rugby and the football; the Premier League game was Liverpool v Spurs – Liverpool won 3-2 and played very well, later it was the Quarter Final of the FA Cup between Manchester Utd. and Chelsea, the result was 2-2 after Chelsea came back from 2-0 down – Sir Alex was not happy! The game at Twickenham kicked off and soon it was clear that England had a job on their hands as Italy got their act together, in the end England held on and won 18-11 but will have to play a lot better next week if they are going to beat Wales. Meanwhile downstairs on the TV the Paris – Nice final time-trial stage was on; Ritchie Porter won the time-trail and took the Yellow jersey as the winner of the race. Back in Italy Froome is now leading the ‘ Adriatico ’ race and is set well to win after the two final stages.

After our Sunday roast in the evening we settled down and watched the late film; “ Bad Boys ”from 1995 starred Will Smith,Martin Lawrence and Tea Leoni – all action – no acting!

Thought for the Day;

Humility is no substitute for a good personality.
