MANILVA THIS WEEK.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 16th17th/ OCTOBER 2012.

The weather is still fine at the moment but it is going a little cooler by the weekend and some of the wet stuff is possible; on Tuesday we had a day pottering about the house, I arranged with the ‘ Marriott Resort ’for a one-day pass on the Saturday that Jane is here just in case the weather is not so good, we can then go along and use the facilities and have a swim before we have dinner, we still have $200 vouchers to use which we received when we did the last sales training there earlier in the year !The last time we where there was with Tim and Thea last year and we had a very nice meal, as usual. We are also this week picking up tickets from the Council for Foreign Residents department for their presentation of the activities for the next few months which is taking place next Thursday down in a beach front bar in Sabinillas with a free drink and tapas.Later in the morning we went for a walk in the noon day sun around the village with the dog, we managed to avoid any sightings by the other dogs on the roam! We then sat outside Bar Rojas for a cool refreshing drink and took in the sights, smells and sounds of Manilva. In the evening we had Steak and Chips for supper, I had a fried Egg on mine and then watched the World Cup Qualifying game between Spain and France; it took place at the Atl.Mardrid ground in Madrid and the King was there to watch Spain draw 1-1 with France, the French scored in the 94th minute!  Meanwhile over in Poland the game against England did not take place as the pitch was waterlogged when the Polish authorities did not close the roof of the stadium even though heavy rain was forecast!! The match took place yesterday afternoon and I watched it on my Football Channel on the large PC,England could only just manage a draw 1-1 and were lucky not to loose, it turned out that they had be given sleeping pills the night before and the effects had not worked off ! It’s true, you couldn’t make it up !!

Yesterday, Wednesday after breakfast I made for a change a ‘Cottage Pie ’for dinner; I picked up the best Beef Mince from our butcher, he minces it to order and I then made it to the ‘ Sexton ’secret family recipe; it contains very fine diced Onions, Carrots and Celery, the mince is well seasoned with the secret ingredients and cooked in a rich Beef Demi-Glaze I meanwhile Brenda made her ‘ Famous ’mashed potatoes to go over the top before finishening it in the oven in the evening. We had it with Garden Peas and Baby Carrots- comfort food to die for! Later we watched a film on the Paramount Channel, it was a thriller, in all senses of the word, about a attempt to climb K2,the second highest mountain in the World; everything that could go wrong did “ Vertical Limit ”from 2000 starred Scott Glenn, Chris O’Donnell and Bill Paxton- catch it for the scenery alone !

The pictures above have just come on-line and show the ‘ Old Sessions House Pub and Kitchen’ in Knutsford,Cheshire at it’s best along with the food and the owners of the ‘ New Moon Pub Company ’- David and Paul !

Thought for the Day;

The intensity of your desire governs the power with which the force is directed.
