SATURDAY/SUNDAY 6th/7th OCTOBER 2012 .
Saturday morning after a little lie in and then a light
breakfast of toast and tea we pottered about the house catching up with chores;
I printed a new picture of David and Jane to go in the picture frame in the
main guest bedroom using gloss photo paper in the new printer for the first
time – the out come was very good for my first attempt – we always have a picture
in the bedroom of our visiting guests! I then watched on the BBCIPlayer ‘ Later
with Jools Holland’ which has started again – he had the usual mix of all sorts
of music. In the afternoon I caught the football from England ;
Liverpool could only draw with Stoke, City beat Sunderland
with ease 3-0 and Everton also drew with Wigan . In the
evening after our Steak a la Plancha super we settled down to watch a film or
two !
We were up bright and early on Sunday morning to get the
roast on the go; Roast Chicken with all the trimmings and Brenda’s selection of
vegetables. Later after freshening up we could not go for a walk with the dog
as she is on heat and there are lot’s of dogs in the village that run around
unattended ! I have finished “ 50 Shades of Grey ”and I’ am looking forward to
the next two books – to see how things develop ! We had asked Anna to join us
for dinner as Mano was working so it was very nice surprise to see Mano – he
had finished early. He’s back to his old self and looks a lot better – he is
still on Shandy ! We could not watch ‘ El Clasico ‘ live as it was only on Pay
TV so we watched it on ‘ Marca ’TV with sound commentary only – Barcelona v
Real Madrid brings the country to a stand still – 2-2 was the result with Messi
and Ronaldo both scoring the two goals each ! Barcelona
should have won !! We went up to Bar Rojas for the last half hour for a ‘
Carachillo ’ and catch the end of the game – it was very exciting and the
atmosphere in the Nou Camp and Bar Rojas was rather loud – helped by my whistle
! See the picture below of the new sign
outside sponsored by ‘ Coca Cola ’- Manolo gets the original bottles in
especially for me – you see the lorry delivering regularly !! On a sad note Lumy's mum had a nasty fall getting out of the bath and broke her hip;she is in the Costa Del Sol Hospital in Marbella awaiting an operation - get well soon and we are thinking about her -love to all the family.
Over the weekend we have been watching several good films; starting
with Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill ’from 2003 with Uma Thurman,Darly Hannah,
Michael Madsen and David Carradine – the second part is next week. Then we caught “ The Expendables ” from only 2010 and
starring every action man hero on the planet, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham,
Jet Li, Dolph Lundren, Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean
Claude Van Damme to name just a few !!! Then for something completely different
– “ Love Actually ” from 2004 and wait for it, I shall take a breath – Hugh Grant,
Liam Neeson,Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Rowan Atkinson, Kris Marshall,
Martin Freeman and in the female roles, Emma Thompson,Keira Knightely,Claudia
Schiffer,Martine McCutheon,Joanna Page and Lucia Moniz – there must be some
that I forgot !
Thought’s for the Day;
Television is simply automated day-dreaming, Television; chewing gum for the eyes.
