MANILVA- MALAGA- MANILVA TODAY.

FRIDAY 6th JULY 2012.

We were up bright and early again and set off to Malaga with Andy to try and finalize the car documents; it was not quite as hot as yesterday and we again made good time getting to Malaga; we now know our way around the city and went direct to the car park near to the ‘ Junta de Andalucia ’ office that we needed, the Spanish system is to check in and get your number issued to you for your place in the queue ! You then sit and watch the display for your number to come up with your desk number ! We then went through the whole procedure again to pay at another counter !! It does work and the waiting time seems to pass quiet quickly – we then crossed over the city and went back to the original office of the ‘ Trafico ’ department from yesterday and went through the whole procedure once again, our number was 241 as we sat down and the number up on the display was 132 ! It goes by rather quickly – there are 15/20 counters in use and in fact it was about 40mins as we crossed to the counter – success !! What a relief !! We had all the support documents that are required and we now know how and where to go about it in the future if required. The cost was 73 euros plus petrol – the agents down in Sabinillas asked for 268 euros ! NB; The Euro has just reached 1.2600 at the close of business this evening – it’s highest in over three years ! Come on over you get more for your money !!

We did our shopping in Sabinillas on the way back, we called into the English Butchers as we passed Buenavista and picked up two lovely Sirloin Streaks for tomorrow night; I then caught today’s stage in the ‘ Tour de France’ but with a slight technical problem – the TV has gone again, the same as last time ! It means that we have no TV for the weekend – I will get most of the sport on the large PC, British Grand Prix and the Tour de France live and will catch the tennis from Wimbledon on the BBC Sports text page ( I can’t get Wimbledon live ) Andy Murray is the first British man to reach the final in 74 years and Serena Williams is going for her 5th title. We can watch films on the large PC as I have an excellent film channel but it’s not the same sat upstairs in the office ! So we are playing 50/60s Rock and Roll Music and Creedance Clearwater Revival to dance to ! In the afternoon I watched Stage 6 from Epernay ( one of our favorite towns ! ) to Metz over 210 kms. Slovakian Peter Sagan sprinted to a third stage win after a huge crash on the run in to Metz, he passed Andre Greipel who was injured in an earlier crash to deny him a third straight victory in the race ! Mark Cavendish was caught up in the main crash and missed the main sprint. Tomorrow’s stage is from Tomblaine to La Planches des Belles Filles over 199 kms. This is the first mountain stage as the Tour enters the ‘ Vosges ’ in North East France, the following day they are in the ‘ Jura ’ mountains and Switzerland ! This evening after our cocktails and nibbles on the roof terrace we had a late supper of Pan Fried Tail of Salmon in a Lemon Butter sauce with new Potatoes and Garden Peas;

PS; Pictures above of today's stage from Epernay to Metz.

Thought for the Day;

Success consists of a series of little daily victories.
