MANILVA OVER THE WEEKEND.

SATURDAY 21st JULY 2012.

The forecast for the weekend was sun and hot but not anything like we had later on; see the blog below ! One “ Helluva ” Hot Day ! We went down to Sabinillas for the launch of ‘ Moscatel Manilva Wine ’as you can see also below, as we entered they gave out fans to everybody as even the locals said ‘ Que Calor ! ’ In the afternoon I watched the Tour – the ‘Time Trial ’ – Bradley Wiggins won and was the fastest with Froome second, after all he has won Olympic and World Gold medals at this sort of racing in the past.So today’s stage into Paris is just a formality barring accidents. It went even hotter later but thankly as we went up on the roof terrace in the early evening there was a little breeze ; we had a late supper of Steak a la Plancha with Chips and Béarnaise sauce and then settled down to watch a film – First it was the classic “ Ronin ” from 1998 starring Robert De Niro and the marvelous Jean Reno – the two big car chases in Nice and then Paris are the best car chases ever ( Bullitt is good ) Jean Reno has made many classic films and my two favorites are the back to back stories “ Jean De Florette & Manon Des Sources ” If you have not seen them get them out and enjoy ! Later we watched a ‘ Dog ’of a film ! “ Alexander ” from 2004 – it had a great cast with Angelina Jolie,Val Kilmer,Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell as ‘ Alexander ’ with an Irish accent !! Oh Dear !!
