A ' BREEZY' & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 10^th/ OCTOBER 2019.

We managed a nice lie in this morning as the village was quieter than normal, ‘Winnie’ slept like a log all night, as usual, on the foot of our bed! After freshening up we had our usual light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ with sliced Banana for me and Brown toast for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea.

Brenda then took ‘ Winnie’ out for her first walk of the day, after I had shot down to our local Butchers, in ‘Calle Iglaise’ – which is slowly starting to take shape, as the refurbishment go’s on & on, they are only half-way down the street to the Church!  I picked up two boned ‘Chicken Legs & Thighs’ to go with the Diced Chicken Breast, for today’s ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Curry ‘

I prepared all the ingredients, diced Onions & Garlic, diced ‘ Fuji’ Apple, diced Pineapple ( Tinned) as well as Baby Mushrooms, I then tossed all the diced Chicken in seasoned flour and browned it off, at the time, I sweated off all the ingredients, adding a large dash of ‘Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ – Tomato Frito, Lemon & Lime juice, as well as various Curry Powders & Pastes, along with the Desiccated Coconut, the browned-off Chicken is then added to the pan with a strong Chicken & Vegetable stock, then left to cook-off under the eye of the ‘ Second Chef’ – who is also preparing/cooking her famous ‘ Basmati Rice’! Served with Garden Peas & sliced Banana.

Our friend Andy is joining us this evening for supper, in a few weeks time he’s off to Thailand for his annual four weeks holiday. To start we will have some ‘Tapas’ and for dessert, Fresh fruit with Jelly & Ice Cream!

Overnight the breeze got up, as forecast, this morning  the sun has just broken through, there are few patchy clouds hanging around in the blue sky, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 23 degs+ - back to normal for the time of the year, tomorrow I could be in for some of the ‘Wet-Stuff’ when I’m out on my travels, the weekend is looking dry and cooler, next week is now looking mixed, with patchy clouds, sunshine and light rain at times, hovering in the low 20s, overnight dropping down to 15/ 16 degs, for the first time in over five months! Watch this space.

We are taking the rest of the day easy & relaxing, after all the excitement of last week, as well as all the running around this week, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘!

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL ' FRESH & CRISP' SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 6^th/ FEBRUARY 2019.

We had a little lie in this morning, again, before getting up to freshen up and have a quick breakfast of toast & tea, I then made this evenings supper, my now very famous ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Curry’ with Brenda’s equally famous ‘Basmati Rice’! 

‘ Little ‘ Chispa’ had been in & out all morning, to see us and looking for any of her old friends in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – she’s in for a nice surprise next week when little ‘Winnie’ – the Pug, arrives for two days!

We have another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva, the sun broke through earlier and the sky is bright blue with not a cloud in sight, by lunchtime it will be 18/19 degs+ - tomorrow reaching 20 degs+ - the rest of the week and over the weekend is looking the same, there is just a very light breeze keeping it ‘ Fresh & Crisp’ in the shade, all the time, next week is now forecast to be the same, but going a little cooler as the breeze gets up, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ – overnight still down to 8/9 degs, by the end of next week we could be in for some of the ‘ wet-stuff’ as the next Atlantic front comes in, watch this space.

The aromas are wafting up the street and through the house as the ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Curry ‘ cooks-off’ under the eagle eye of the ‘ Second Chef’ – my usual recipe of Diced Chicken Breast, Leg & Thighs, in seasoned flour and browned off, Onions, Shallots, Garlic, Baby Mushrooms, Fuji Apple, a good dash of ‘Lee & Perrins’ with Tabasco sauce, Tomato Frito, six different Powders & five Pastes, Lime & Lemon juice, not forgetting the Dessicated Coconut,  all added along with a strong ‘Chicken & Vegetable’ stock.

Last night we watched the final part of ‘ Silent Witness’ – the last episode in this series, as the ‘ Team’ found the murderer and the insider working in the lab, over the next few weeks there are more series coming back along with some new ones, this evening we will after supper channel hop to find something to watch.

A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 16^th/ MARCH 2016.

As usual ‘ Reina’ arrived at 9-00 am and she shot into her duvet, we had our normal breakfast and then got ourselves freshened up, Brenda then bathed her feet, they are both looking a lot better, back to normal, we will try their strength a bit later when she goes on the crutches, meanwhile I started to get ready this evenings supper “ Beef Curry “ on the go, Brenda is in charge of the ‘Basmati Rice’ !

We are back to normal as the sun was out early and the sky is now blue, there is no breeze and looks like we are in for another fine day, the forecast for the rest of the week is settled and hopefully the weekend will also be fine.

After lunch we will be watching the second day of the ‘ Cheltenham Festival’ – yesterday was very exciting with some great wins, its the best National Hunt Racing in the World, it was a fine day at ‘Prestbury Park’ and it was packed , the new stand looked terrific.

Then after supper we settled down to watch the final episode of “ Happy Valley “ – it was very gripping, as most of the story lines were solved, it leaves some questions un-answered, is there going to be another series?! The acting is top notch and the story lines are very true to life, the Yorkshire area comes over as unchanged with all the grey stone houses and everybody know everybody business, Sarah Lancashire gives another award winning performance as the gritty Police Sergeant who has all sorts of family problems to handle at the same time! Last nights episode we a bit of an anti-climax but no less very watchable.
