We were up early this morning and after a
quick freshen, we masked/gloved’ up, and shot down to the ‘ Suma’ supermarket
before it got too hot! ‘Thankfully’ there was a fresh ‘Poniente’ breeze, which
had picked up over night, coming down from the mountains behind the village!
I then went and got the car from the
underground car park and picked Brenda up with all the shopping and took her
back to the house to unload, usually we struggle back up the heavy bags, it was
then time for our fresh fruit (sliced Banana) toast and tea. Brenda then popped
down to our local shop at the bottom of our street for his fresh fruit &
vegetables etc.
As I said there is a very pleasant cooling
breeze this morning, the sun was out first thing and the sky is blue and
cloudless, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 34/35 degs+ - only going down to
22/23 degs during night time, July and the ‘Sahara Heat Wave’ has arrived, tomorrow
will be a little cooler, over the weekend as the breeze stiffens, it will be in
the high 20s again, next week is now looking like we are in for more of the
same, very hot sunshine, clear blue skies, while hovering in the high 20s, going
back up into the low 30s by next Wednesday, the rest of the week staying the
same, the following week is going to be another ‘ Hot-One’ – watch this space.
NB; It’s that time of the year, already,
for the warning about open fires, from the beaches to the mountains, as you can
see in the ‘ Forest Risk Map’ below.
Now for some sad/bad news, yesterday
lunchtime our friend Andy called in after his early morning work-shift at the ‘Manilva
Green Aparthotel’ – he checked out all the support systems for the ‘IPTV’ – re-setting
all the controls etc, we then tried to bring it back online, with no success,
as when we got to the live stage, the system( illegal) had been taken off-line and closed by the ‘UK
National Police Force’ with ‘ warning’s’ for all users! ( 15 million world
wide!)
They have been prosecuting the ‘ Providers ‘
in the UK and all over Europe, ours come from Scotland, this means that we now
have no English TV, News, Film, Sports channels etc!
After discussing the problem with Andy we
decided to go and buy a new 32in Smart TV- from the ‘Carrefort Hypermarket’
over in Estepona, they had some affordable/sale offers on show, but sadly not
in stock! ( 1 Week ) While we were there ( me & Andy!) I picked up a new ‘Battery
Charger’ with rechargeable Batteries for the camera, on the way back we called into
three other ‘Electrical Goods’ supermarkets, all with no luck! ‘ The Best Plans
of Men & Mice ‘ !!
So it was ‘ Plan B ‘ for now, Andy spent
the next few hours, after we had consulted with Lee, our other ‘IT’ friend,
trying to download some systems, with a little luck, we have ‘ Sky News’ and
lots of film channels, but no ‘BBC TV, ITV, Channel 4 etc, as well as no Sports
channels, Andy also set us up with his ‘Netflix’ joint users plan, so ‘Plan C ‘ is still to buy a new 32in Smart
TV, the best that we can afford, with all the online channels/contacts, so we
will not need to use the ‘ Firefox’ TV stick again! We will then try/use a legal
download system, after checking out what is available locally, watch this space.
After all this we asked Andy to stay for
his well-earned supper, as well as a few ‘ Beers’ while working and his
favourite ‘Whisky/Sprite’ to finish! “
Thanks Again “
This evening we are going out on the ‘town’
for supper, after giving the ‘ Head Chef & Staff’ the night off, we are
going along to ‘Bar Castillo’ for a ‘Tapas’ supper.
“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES-
IN SELF LOCKDOWN HERE “
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
