A VERY CLOSE & HAZY SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 8^th/ JULY 2020.  “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 17 “

We overslept a little this morning, so after a quick freshen up, we had a quick toast & tea, before ‘ masked/gloved’ up we shot down to the ‘ Suma’ supermarket to stock up the larder & wine racks! I picked Brenda up outside and dropped her and the bags back at the house, I then carried on down to ‘ Super Sol’ for the ‘ English’ essentials.

While I was out the ‘Service Company’ for the house called and said that they would be with us at 12-00 noon with the ‘ Infestation/Extermination Company ’ to review the house and set up a date to totally fumigate the premises, for our major problem with ( Cucaracha – Cockroach) – we were very impressed with the main ‘ Consultant Pest Control Engineer’ – very professional and thorough, its’ a typical ‘Spanish and Manilva’ problem! Watch this space.

One bit of good news, from Monday, is that the ‘ Council Chiropodist’ - Carmen, is not now retiring for another year, which is great news for us, as the service if free!

This morning is rather overcast, close & clammy, there is only a slight breeze, so no blue sky, at the moment, there is a light sea mist and a low cloud/hazy base, despite all this it’s still very hot, by lunchtime reaching 30 degs+ - overnight only back down to 21/22 degs+ - tomorrow is looking the same, then over the weekend it’s going a little cooler, hovering in the high 20s, next week is still going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ – to say the least, with lots of very warm sunshine, light breezes, back into the low 30s, and by next weekend reaching 34/35 degs+! For our supper this evening we are having “ Chicken Empanadas “ – ‘ Chicken Breast’ coated in savoury Garlic Breadcrumbs – shallow fried – served with finely sliced ‘French’ Green Beans and triple-cooked ‘ Frits and a Tomato Salad on the side.
