A VERY SUNNY & HOT MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF A 'HELLUVA' WEEK;

MONDAY 6th/ JULY 2015.

Just a quick one today to let my mind get back into gear; ‘Reina’ is here for the day and back tomorrow, the workmen arrived early and made a lot of noise so I sent an E-Mail to the solicitors! Andy came along and sorted the PCs for the moment. The week ahead is going to be very warm as the ‘Heat Wave’ within a ‘Heat Wave’ is making it even hotter for this time of the year. We are out & about on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday with Den & Josie! Tonight we are having Calves Liver for supper. From tomorrow the Blog will be back to normal but will be published later as we are out playing! Watch this space.

A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 10th/ JUNE 2015.

I was up early again this morning as there was a change in plans in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ as ‘Reina’ was back with us today instead of tomorrow, she’s with us until later this evening as Lee & Daniela have problems with cars and picking Lee’s mother up from the Airport in Gibraltar after work; she shot upstairs and joined us for a little sleep in until the workmen started making too much noise as they unloaded more scaffolding!

Today the sun was out first thing and the sky is blue, its hot already and by lunchtime it will be very hot as there is no breeze; the forecast is for more of the same but possibly a little cooler as there is a nasty front with hail & rain over Northern Spain which could effect the overall temperatures.

Later we will go for a walk with ‘Reina & Chispa’ and no doubt call in for a cool drink as were are out in the village; no sign at the moment of the handyman arriving to do all the repairs and install our new kitchen, I’m going to have to chase him up with the family solicitors if he does not show later! ‘Chispa’ has just arrived and they are both playing around my feet as I’m typing the Blog.

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘Brochettes of Pork’ so we have moved the ‘Chicken Curry’ forward to tomorrow, it’s going to be fish on Friday and steak on Saturday, Sunday is TBC as it’s now too hot for roasting! (Brenda is craving for some Lamb)! Watch this space.

                                                                Tonight's 'Brochettes of Pork'

No moans today, I’ve declared it ‘Moan Free Day’ that is until something disturbs me that requires a ‘Victor Meldrew’ moment!

We are planning to go up on the roof terrace this afternoon, if the workmen are not making too much noise, as we miss having our regular ‘Happy Hour’ as well as reading and listening to the local radio; after supper we will as usual catch up with all the news, sport and weather detail before settling down to watch something.

A VERY WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 3 rd/ MARCH 2015.

I was up early this morning as ‘Reina’ was due first thing, she shot upstairs as normal and dived under her duvet; this morning the sun was out early, also the sky is blue and there is no breeze, the forecast for today is 23/24degs and then its settling down to 21/22degs before going warmer over the weekend. during the night time the minimum temperature is on the 15degs mark which means that we do not need to warm the bedroom and down in the lounge we have not had to turn on the oil heater! We are back to normal for this time of the year.

Sadly up in Northern Spain they have severe flooding and in the Zaragoza region they are on 'Orange' alert after the River Ebro burst its banks.

After breakfast I made another batch of the now famous ‘Minestrone Soup’ using the Tomato Salsa that I made yesterday as the base; over 20 different vegetables, pulses & pasta along with secret ingredients make up the soup.See below;

‘Scruffy’ arrived just as I was finishing and is sat at my feet as I’m typing the Blog,no doubt ‘Chispa’ will be here shortly and we will then go for a long walk with all three of the dogs! It was so hot that we had to take off our jumpers, 'Shirt Sleeve' weather is back! See below.

We ended up down at the sports complex,the new climbing wall in the main sports hall is now open,in front of the Congress Centre they have set up a large 'Dodgem" ready for Saturday.See below;

At lunchtime Mano & Anna called in for a chat and gossip, so they went off with a tub of the 'Minestrone' - we also gave Mano his little present of a Cocktail Shaker for his new cocktail bar in their house!

For our supper this evening we are having a ‘Soft Mixed Grill’( Late Brunch) using English Smoked Back Bacon & Pork Sausages, sautéed Baby Mushrooms, grilled Tomato & Chorizo, sautéed Potatoes and of course ‘Campo’ fried Eggs!- and I nearly forgot 'Baked Beans'( Heinz!) !! See below;

Tonight after supper we will channel hop and find something to watch.

A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 19th/ FEBRUARY 2015 “ CHINESE NEW YEAR OF THE GOAT ”

‘Riena’ arrived, as usual, early this morning, then we had a little lie in before breakfast; the sky is blue and the sun is out and the forecast for the weekend is looking good, it’s getting a little warmer by Sunday and the overall day-time temperatures are set to reach 18degs.

It’s the full works in the shower department this morning with Brenda shampooing her hair and then I’m going for the full shave and shower after she finishes; we will then go for a walk with the dogs, after ‘Chispa’comes calling.As you can see it's another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva with the view across the valley to the mountains - see below;

I can then call into the Council Planning Department and try and find out anything about the development in Calle Dominguez around the corner adjoining the house, I’ve sent the pictures off to our lawyer, who happens to be the daughter in law of the owner, so we will see what transpires, the boss from the company doing the electricity work did not show up, as promised! Our main concern, personally, is about the disruption, noise and dirt - Watch this space!!

The news is that planning permission has been granted for the development but the bad news is that I'm not allowed to see any plans or details for when and how etc!

On the way back across the 'Plaza de la Vendimia' the workmen have started to fix metal shutters around the 'Roman Pottery Ovens' This is going to totally obscure them ?! I asked them why and the only answer was that there is going to be 'Pictures' on them ??!!  See below;

This evening for our supper we are having a ‘Sausage & Lamb Casserole’ using the leftover ‘Hotpot’ which I’ve added some cooked English Pork Sausages too! Tomorrow night we are having a ‘Fish Supper’ tbc, then on Saturday its ‘Steak Night’ and for Sunday’s supper we are going to have ‘Medallions of Pork Fillet’

Last night after supper we watched the end of the Real Madrid game against a German team, they won 0-2 – next Tuesday they are showing on TVE 1 the Manchester City v Barcelona match in the ‘Champions League’Afterwards we channel hopped as it's not a good film night.
