A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 26th/ JUNE 2019.

I was up early, again this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off down to Sabinillas to the main ‘Medical Centre’ for my appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, she has started me on another week of various antibiotics for the ‘ Celulitis ‘ which is starting to clear, slowly.

The severe rash on my left arm and now shoulder is possibly a  ‘Left- Body’ Viral/Virus infection, I have to go for Blood tests etc on Friday morning, at the same time I’m waiting to hear from the ‘ Costa Del Sol Hospital’ for an emergency appointment at the ‘ Dermatology Department’ – which I put the documents into the Reception Desk at the ‘Medical Centre’ for!

Finally I have had to, sadly, cancel my final four-week course, for the moment, at the ‘Estepona Hospital’ at the ‘ Physiotherapy Department’  with Encarni, the ‘ Head Physio’ for the extensive treatment on my left-hand, as I can’t dip it in the hot wax bath, which starts the daily treatment, I carried on across to the Hospital and spoke to Encarni, who gave me her private number, for when it’s possible to go back, watch this space.

All this means that I’m not a very ‘ Happy Chappy’ – to say the least, I’m not a good patient, at any time and hate being off-colour ill, especially when you can see what is wrong!

All this is happening as the weather is going hotter, the sun was out , first thing, and there is a very light breeze, the sky has cleared and is blue & cloudless, so by lunchtime it will be up 27 degs+ and rising, tomorrow even hotter and by the weekend up to 30 degs+ - overnight hovering on the 18/19 degs mark, next week is going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ to say the least, with all the forecasts warning of a severe heat wave! Watch this space.

On the menu front, for our supper this evening we are going out, I given the ‘ Staff’ the night off, we are going up to ‘ Cafeteria Nacho’ in Calle Mar’ for cool drinks ( despite the antibiotics!) and a light ‘ Tapas meal.

A GREY & OVERCAST AND COLD SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 21st/ FEBRUARY 2017.

We were up a little earlier this morning and after getting ourselves ready we had a quick cup of tea & toast before shooting out on our travels to the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ Hospital past Marbella; my appointment with the ‘ Prostrate Consultant’ was at 11-00am and was on time, as usual, to the minute.

NEWSFLASH; MEDICAL UPDATE.

The news is not so good, after the ‘ MRI’ Scan last week, it has shown a shadow/scar in the prostrate area that will require an operation to perform a major Biopsy ( my third ) & exploration under a ‘General Anesthetic’ – this means that I will have to go into hospital overnight for 24hrs. Firstly I’ve made appointments for a further ‘ECG test & X-Ray’ on Thursday, then an appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, on Monday morning for a review/check up followed by more blood tests, I then have to go back to the hospital for a review with the ‘ Anestesiology  Consultant’  to check all the results etc, before the operation, while we were at the hospital we went up to the ‘Admissions Department’ to book in for the operation, they will ring with the date and time, watch this space!

PS; This evening the ' Anestesiolgy Department ' called to make my appointment to see the Consultant for two weeks on Friday afternoon! RESULT!!

As we set off on our travels it was grey & overcast with a stiff, cold, breeze, as forecast, the drive over along the coast road was dull & cloudy, the ‘ Mediterranean ‘ was stormy with the waves crashing onto the beaches, tomorrow its getting a little better, the sun is back and then for the rest of the week, except Thursday when there is the possibility  of showers, and over the weekend it’s keeping dry and sunny, back to normal for the time of the year, watch this space.

So no ‘ celebration ‘ lunch out today, it’s been put on hold for now! This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Chicken Fillets ‘ with finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘ Frits ‘ – tomorrow it’s going to be ‘ Seared Calves Liver ‘ with Sausages & Smoked Bacon and a Red Wine Onion Gravy.

See below this evenings ' Frits ' !

Later after a snack lunch we are taking things easy, catching up with the newspapers and the main news before channel hopping later, after supper we will find a film to watch.

                                                                                                      " POWER CUTS "

MANILVA.

Sunday 14th. September.

After the night before we had a long lie in and then a late brunch as usual on a Sunday; We had got our information wrong about the “ Cierro Verano Cultural” the Karoake was it! on Saturday. In the afternoon I watched the Grand Prix and the Motorcycling GP as Brenda caught up with her book on the roof terrace in the afternoon sunshine, next week on the ten day forecast there is some rain due-the first in five months!Later in the evening we walked to Bar Castillo for some Tapas including their excellent Croquettes.

Monday 15th September.

We went for a walk in the morning around the village and called into the butchers for some Pork Cutlets for dinner;we also bumped into Mano at the office,Bar Augustine, and had a coffee with him before he went to a meeting about the Aparthotel with two of the owners. In the evening Brenda called her two sisters in England on the Skype phone to catch up with all the news,Jenny in Claughton village and Norah in Runcorn.Norah is the oldest of the four sisters with Lyn in Australia the next,Norah has just been on an IT course and has her first computer and had just been on our blog-page for the first time ! Well done Norah!! In the evening we had a late supper with the Pork Cutlets in our favourite Lemon butter sauce with Lyonnaise potatoes and Brenda’s selection of fresh vegetables!

Tuesday 16th September.

Today it is sunny and warm as we went down to Sabinillas for some shopping and on the way back we called into Mano and Anna’s to see how the house is coming on,it’s typical Anna style and is looking very different all ready, the new floor and the computer area especially;at lunchtime Anna called in with Carlos and Fabio as they walked through the village to say hello. In the post this morning Brenda’s medical card arrived and mine is in the system to finish off our Spanish documents to become resident in Spain, also there was a letter with some wedding pictures from one of Brenda’s old work mates from before we were married,Irene, who made contact with us fairly recently and told us all about her family growing up and the wedding of her daughter. Thanks for the pictures Irene and Pete! As I was typing this Ben called with the latest news about our very dear friend Carol,Im’afraid it’s not good news,
Carol has not improved and the doctors have prepared the family for the worst,so our thoughts go out to Ben,Yola and Michelle and Carol’s brother Dave in Canada as well as her mother Dorothy in England at this very worrying time.
