We had a nice long lie in this morning
after a week of early starts, in fact, if truth be told, we overslept a little!
After freshening up, I noticed that Lyn was online over on Melbourne,
Australia, on ‘ Facebook’ – so we called her for a video call, 11-00 am here,
7-00 pm her time, she is fine & well and had just had a nice visit from
Michael, Kelly & Libby, to her house in ‘ Cardinia Waters’ Park, Pakenham,
Victoria.
It was then time for our regular Saturday
morning breakfast of Brenda’s now famous & perfect ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs –
Boiled for herself, with mugs of hot/strong Tea.
We then watched on the TV the first official
public appearance of the ‘Queen’ as she reviewed a socially-distanced and
scaled down version of the ‘ Trooping the Colour’ – taking place in the
Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, for the first time ever, to mark her official birthday,
with the ceremony executed by the socially distanced soldiers of the ‘ 1st
Battalion Welsh Guards’
See Below;
We have a beautiful glorious day down here
on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva, the sun was out first thing, the sky
is bright blue and now cloudless, as there is a very light breeze, so by lunchtime
it’s due to reach 27/28 degs+ - overnight down to 16/17 degs+ - the perfect
time of the year, before it gets hotter, with no breezes, tomorrow is looking
the same, next week we are in for a ‘ hot-one’ to say the least, hovering in
the high ‘ Teens’ up to 30 degs+ before the weekend, when we will be out &
about celebrating Brenda’s birthday, with lots of hot sunshine, with just the
occasional cloud, overnight only
dropping down to 18/19 degs+ - the following week is going to be even hotter – up
into the 30s+ all week - getting hotter each day, watch this space.
“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “
All quiet with no more news to update, so
far today.
This evening for our supper we are having a
large ‘Spanish Entrecote ‘ steak – seasoned and cooked on a very hot
griddle-plate ‘Med-Rare’ – then left to rest – before slicing it into fingers ‘French’
style – garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms &
Shallots, accompanied with a classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce and served with whole
baby ‘ French’ Green Beans and of course triple-cooked ‘ Frits’ – tomorrow we
are collecting at lunchtime a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the ‘Rotisserie’ in Calle
Mar, for our supper, which we are having with a ‘Mixed Salad’ selection and ‘Pommes
de Terre Rissolee’
PS; The ‘Head Chef’ has now been given the
night-off next Friday evening, so he’s now taking the ‘Second/Vegetable Chef’
out for a ‘ Fish N’ Chip’ supper with Mushy Peas, down to Marlow’s past
Sabinillas, to start the weekend of ‘Birthday’ celebrations for Brenda!
