After freshening up I shot along to the
local Bank in ‘Calle Mar’ – masked/gloved
up, to pay our water bill, when I returned, as usual, on a Monday I was on the
breakfast rota so I had a ‘ Dockers Butty ‘ – a ‘Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon
Butty ‘ – smothered in HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with her
favourite sliced/seared Baby Mushrooms tossed in the bacon juices with a knob
of butter, some of which ended up in my Butty, with mugs of hot/strong Tea.
As usual we were listening to the ‘
Lockdown Party’ show on Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – as the ‘
Mystery Voice’ quiz came on, it was easy today, the comedian Jo Brand, a good
start to the week, 4 out of 5 last week!
Brenda then masked/gloved up and went along
‘ Calle Mar’ to the Chemists for some of our prescription tablets, on the way
back she called into the local shop for bottled water etc.
At the start of June we have a beautiful
day here in sunny Manilva, down on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ – yesterday the ‘ Storm’
passed over us very quickly, at one moment the lightening was very severe and
we had the loudest thunder clap ever, it then stopped and brightened up and we
were able to go out for our normal walk later.
This morning the sun was out first thing
and the clouds have cleared and the sky is bright blue, there is just a slight
breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 24/25 degs+ - overnight down to 17/18
degs+ - over the next couple of days going a little warmer, then the threat of
the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ is still on one of the forecasts, hovering in the high 20s,
over the weekend, next week is now looking dry, very hot and sunny with lots of
sunshine, back to normal for the time for the time of the year – June! Watch
this space.
The old vines on all the slopes around the
village are starting to fruit and show the ‘Moscatel’ Grapes, see below.

For our supper this evening we are having the
‘Roast Leg of Lamb’ – cold carved, with all the leftover Vegetables & ‘Boulangere’
Potatoes. On Tuesday it’s going to be ‘ Pan-Seared Liver’ – Wednesday will be ‘
Baked Pork Loin Steaks’ – Thursday it’s ‘ Omelettes of Choice’ and on Friday a ‘
Fish Supper’ – as usual on Saturday it will be our ‘ Steak Night’ – Sunday is
still TBC, watch this space.
I’m also go to prepare my famous ‘
Ensaladilla Rusa – Russian Salad’ - my version of the old classic, with the help
of the ‘ Second Chef’ – made with diced boiled
Potatoes, chopped boiled ‘ Campo’ Eggs, diced Baby Carrots, Garden Peas,
chopped Red Pimentos & Parsley and not forgetting the crushed ‘ Tinned Tuna’
– all bound together with a rich Mayonnaise ( Hellman’s!) – then seasoned with
salt & white pepper, to taste.
Last night after supper we watched the
pen-ultimate episode of the very exciting and gripping ‘ Killing Eve’ – with just
two ‘ Killings’ – with a golf club and lethal injection – both of which
survived?! Watch this space.
