We were up early this morning as the ‘Maintenance
‘ workman was due to come back to finish the painting of the damp walls and
ceilings in the bedroom, bathrooms and lounge, as well as some small jobs still
outstanding. Which he did and on time! He also did some extra jobs for us at the same time!
We freshened up and then Brenda took ‘Lolo’
out for his first walk of the day, he’s with us until a week today, little ‘
Miss Bella’ is due back with us in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ tomorrow morning and on
Wednesday/Thursday this week, also on Thursday evening ‘ Scruffy’ is back with
us for a sleep-over and all day on Friday, as Adrian has his regular Hospital
appointment.
When Brenda returned, as I was on the
breakfast rota, as usual on a Monday morning, I had prepared my favourite ‘
Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on
Brown for Brenda ,with her favourite sliced Baby Mushrooms seared in the Bacon
juices with a knob of Butter- some of which ended up in my Butty, with mugs of
hot/strong tea to set us up for the week ahead! I then popped along to the
local Bank in’ Calle Mar’ to pay the electricity bill.
We have yet another glorious start to the
week this morning, the sun was out early and the sky is cloudless and clear blue,
there is slight breeze so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 22 degs+ -
staying warm & sunny – overnight down to 12 degs+ - the rest of the week
and over the weekend it’s staying the same, dry, warm & sunny, with a few
patchy clouds at times, hovering in the high ‘ teens’ – next week it will be a
little cooler, but still sunny, as the next windy ‘Atlantic’ front comes in, watch
this space.
On the sports front this weekend it’s the ‘
National Hunt Cheltenham Festival ‘ stating tomorrow, over five days at the
home of Jump Racing, with excellent coverage on ‘ITV’ – over the weekend
Manchester City lost at Manchester Utd 2-0 and here in La’ Liga’ Real Madrid
were beaten 2- 1 and are now 2 points & two goals behind Barcelona in the
La Liga’!! At the ‘ Guinness Six Nations Rugby Union’ Scotland beat France
28-17.
At lunchtime on our walk with ' Lolo' we ended up sat outside ' Bar Castillo ' in the very hot sunshine for a nice cool drink as the World passed us by!
This evening we are going down to the local Surgery, by the sports complex as we have our appointments with Carmen, the 'Council's' Chiropodist.
For our supper this evening we are having
carved ‘ Cold Roast Topside of Beef ‘ – ‘ pink no blood ‘ – we love ‘ Cold-Cuts’
of Roast meat, with a selection of the
leftover Vegetables and ‘ Goose Fat Roast Potatoes, the ‘ Menus’ for the rest
of the week are still TBC, watch this space.
This afternoon and after supper this
evening we will be catching up with all
the ‘ Quiz Shows’ that we follow; ‘Countdown, Tenable, Tipping Point, The
Chase, Pointless, Eggheads, Only Connect, Mastermind & University Challenge
‘ – later as usual channel hopping to find a good film to watch.
