We had a nice, long lie in this morning as
the village is very quiet, no cars or deliveries down our street, the children
back to school and no neighbours chattering, oh and yes, sadly, no friends with
us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’! ‘ Chispa called a little later to say Hello!
After freshening up we first take our
prescription tablets and I take my blood reading before my insulin injection, we
then have our regular light breakfast of ‘Weetabix’ with sliced Banana, in cold milk, for me, and brown toast for
Brenda, with mugs of hot tea, to set us up for the day ahead.
As I’m typing/posting Tuesday’s Blog I always
listen to the excellent ‘Country Classics’ at lunchtime, presented by David Sibbald on “ Castle Radio
FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW”
PS, In the lunchtime post two birthday cards from Canada & the UK! ( 24th September Malcolm!) - 'Thanks'
This morning it’s started warm & sunny,
the sun broke through earlier and the sky is clearing and blue, there is just a
slight breeze, making it very pleasant, so by lunchtime it will reach 25 degs+
- just about right for the time of the year, tomorrow the temperature is going
up to 28 degs+ - overnight still hovering on the 18/19 degs mark for now, the
rest of the week and over the coming weekend it’s going a little cooler, with a
few patchy clouds and a little threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff in the air, next
week is now looking very similar, warm
& sunny, with patchy clouds and a little sea mist at times, hovering in the
mid 20s, with a light breeze, looking at the following weeks forecast, at the
moment, it’s looking dry & sunny, for the Canadian ‘ Clans’ visit down here
to sunny Manila and the ‘ Costa Del Sol’!
Watch this space.
PS; At the moment we have thunder & lightening in the distance ?! ' Hailstones' up in Ronda, the size of Golf Balls !!
“ Countdown 13 days “
Over in Liverpool, berthed at the Pier Head
is a different type of cruise liner, the “ Le Dumont d’Urville “ – an ‘
Explorer’ class ship featuring all the needs of the customers, to visit more
unique environmental destinations!
With a barge/bunkering/topping up the fuel!
Yesterday lunchtime we caught up with our
dear friends, Tim & Thea, over in Old Colwyn in North Wales, that we have
not talked to in long while, on the ‘ Skype’ video, they are both very well,
waiting for the outcome of the ‘ Brexit’ fiasco, before heading back off on their
travels, Jo, their daughter is now settled in Dubai, after leaving Madrid, to
teach English at another International school!
On the menu front this evening we are
having for our supper ‘ Sexton’s Super Stacked Burgers’ – homemade Burgers form
our local Butcher ( Beef, Pork or Chicken) – cooked on the hot griddle-plate, served
on toasted Brioche Buns( Sesame seeds) with all the usual trimmings, crispy Lettuce,
sliced Tomato & Gherkins, sautéed Shallots & crisp Smoked Bacon, with a
slice of Gruyere Cheese for Brenda, mine topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg! No forgetting the triple-cooked, hand-cut, ‘
Stringfellows’ served in the Basket!

Tomorrow evening the ‘ Dish of the Week ‘
is going to be my now famous ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole’ with
a selection of fresh local Vegetables & Parsley New Potatoes.
Yesterday evening after supper we caught
the next gripping episode of “ A Confession “ as the killer, played by Joe
Absolom, confessed to the excellent Martin Freeman, as the lead detective, in a
horrifying portrayal of the real life killer as he leads them to two buried body's!
This evening it’s the next episode of “ A
Capture “ – as the ‘ CIA’ and it’s inscrutable agent, played by Ron Perlman, (
the Face !) with his boss played by
Famke Janssen ( a Bond girl”!) interrogate the main character in a Belgravia safe
house, as the main lady Detective tries to find him!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
