FRIDAY 20th/ SEPTEMBER 2019.
We were both up very early this morning and
after a quick freshen up we shot off on our travels, down to Sabinillas, as
Brenda had her early appointment at the main ‘ Medical Centre’ for her Blood
test etc, ‘Scruffy’ spent the night on the marble floor under the bed, as
usual, he then joined us for his first walk of the day, down to the garage,
after dropping Brenda off we both waited in the car to pick her up, I then shot
back up the hill and dropped them off back at the house, before shooting back
down to Sabinillas, around the four hairpin bends, to go to ‘ Mercadona’ for
our main shop.
I called into the ‘ English Bookshop’ for
the local newspapers, we are leaving the fresh flowers & wall plants until
next Friday, I then popped into ‘ Super Sol’ for our English essentials, after
unloading back at the house I had a quick toast, fresh fruit ( Bananas) &
tea, before coming up to the office/studio to go on the ‘ WWW’ and then
type/post today’s Blog.
This afternoon ‘ Chico’ is due to arrive
for his six day holiday, ‘ Scruffy’ will be collected later by Rose, on Monday
little ‘ Miss Bella’ is back with us, as well as on Tuesday, then after ‘Chico’
goes home, on Wednesday, we will have no dogs with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ as
the ‘ Canadian Clan’ arrives on Sunday the 29th September!
As we set off early this morning it was
still grey & overcast, with just a hint of the Red sunrise over the
Mediterranean, the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ has stayed above Malaga, for now,
there is a slight breeze, so the clouds are clearing slowly, it’s very close
& ‘clammy’ at the moment, by lunchtime it’s only going to reach 23 degs+ -
the coolest it’s been in nearly 4 months! Over the weekend it’s staying the
same, with still the possibility of some rain on Sunday, next week is now looking
dry, warm & sunny, with just a few patchy clouds hanging around, as the
breeze stiffens a little, by Wednesday back up to 29 degs+ - overnight hovering
at around 18/19 degs,- overall the temperatures will be in the mid 20s, just in
time for the arrival, next weekend of the family from Canada on Sunday ( 25
degs!) The week that they are here, is
at the moment looking dry, warm & sunny, hovering in the mid 20s, normal
for the time of the year. Watch this space.
On Wednesday the ‘ IPTV’ system went off, I
tried all the reset options ( twice) with no luck, I then contacted the main
server agent, he first said that it would be back on in two hours, sadly it
wasn’t, still no joy yesterday, then on ‘Facebook’ it soon became clear that it
was a major global problem, the system had been closed by the authority that
manages Satellite systems!! We have a ‘ Problem’ Huston !!
At the moment we are watching ‘BBC TV’ on
the ‘ I Player’ and ‘ITV’ on the ‘ ITV Hub’ – which have not been effected, so
far, the main sports channel is also still working, watch this space.
Meanwhile over in Liverpool the ‘ Boys’ are
back in Town!
In the lunchtime post I received two more birthday cards from the UK, thanks !

For our supper this evening we are having a
‘ expensive’ treat, this morning on the ‘Fish Market’ counter in ‘Mercadona’
there was a large freshly caught ‘Rodaballo
– Turbut “ – they cut off & trimmed the four fillets for me, so I will cook
two of them tonight – ‘ A La Meuniere’ style, see below, garnished with large fresh ‘ Red
Gambas’ – cooked on a bed of Sea Salt, see below, the other two fillets will go in the freezer for another day! We are
going to have with them Broccoli Florets, Asparagus Spears & Garden Peas, with Baby New
Potatoes in their skins!
On Saturday evening it’s going to be a
large “ Chuelton de Buey – Rib of Beef on the Bone “ – cooked on a very hot
griddle-plate, ‘Med-Rare’ then left to rest, before taking it off the bone, and
carving it into fingers ‘ French’ style, served with all the usual
accompaniments!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
