I was up very early this morning and after
a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels, down to Sabinillas, for the weekly
shopping, I first called into the main ‘ Medical Centre’ and managed to get an
appointment for Brenda, with our Doctor, Natalia, at 1-00 pm today!
PS, Sadly our Doctor, Natalia, was on holiday and it was 'Relief Doctor' - with a very long waiting room, so Brenda decided to try another day, as it's very important to have continuity, that's the reason I was fitted is so easily, as next week was not available, watch this space.

I then had my usual toast & tea in ‘ItZabar’
before going along to ‘Mercadona’ for our main shop, I picked up the local
newspapers from the ‘ English Bookshop’ before dropping down into the ‘Puerto
de la Duquesa Marina’ to the English Butchers’ to stock up with ‘Gammon Steaks,
Homemade Pork Sausages & Smoked Bacon, Pork Loin Steaks, etc – as well as all
the condiments.
Finally I came back along to the far end of
the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers & wall plants.
Both the dogs slept all night and Brenda
took them out for their first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village,
while I was out, they are both behaving very well and getting on fine, ‘Lolo ‘
has settled into our routine and ‘ Scoobie’ knows us and our ‘ ways’- he’s now
staying for an extra nights sleep-over on Saturday and being collected later on
Sunday, watch this space

As I set off there was a black cloud over
the village and as I came out of ‘ Mecadona it was ‘spitting’! It’s now cleared
and the sun is breaking through and the clouds are clearing slowly as there is
a light breeze, by lunchtime, when I take Brenda down to the surgery it’s due
to reach 27 degs+ over the weekend it’s
staying the same, with patchy clouds, still warm & sunny, next week we are
in for more of the same, going a little cooler as the breeze stiffens, by next
weekend back in the high 20s, watch this space.
See below the entrance
to the ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ this morning.
Yesterday in the
lunchtime post we received a ‘Post Card’ from Kelvin & Gaye, who are on
holiday in Scotland, with their dog, staying at Inveraray, Argyll. It’s the
first post card in a while, this year, so just a little reminder to all our
family & friends, when you are out & about please send us a ‘Post Card’
– we know it’s old fashioned, but we love receiving and sending them!
NB; As well as ‘ Birthday
Cards, Anniversary Cards and Special Occasions as well as the ‘ Christmas Cards’!!
Today it’s “ National
Fish N’ Chip Day “ – which we celebrate every Friday anyway! This evening for a
change we are having ‘Pan-Seared Fillets of Pink Sea Trout’ – that I spotted at
the ‘Fish Market’ this morning, finished ‘ A La Meuniere ‘ style – served with
a classic ‘Hollandaise’ sauce and accompanied with Parsley New Potatoes &
Garden Peas.
This afternoon we will
be watching the ‘ French Open Tennis “ from Paris, on ‘Semi-Finals’ day, sadly
last night England did not play very well and made mistakes defending, so lost
3-1 to Holland in the Semi-Final of the “ UEFA Nations League “ championship
taking place in Portugal. Over the weekend its’ the ‘ Canadian Grand Prix ‘ –
taking place in Montreal.
After supper we will
channel hop to find something to watch.
