A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANLVA ON " VENDIMIA" SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 6^th/ SEPTEMBER 2014.

We had a nice lie in his morning to prepare us for the day and night ahead; we had our usual breakfast of fresh fruit, toast and tea and then got things on the go to get ready for the weekend; last night after supper we had a gentle walk up to the top stage for the “Vendimia Flamenco Concert”

We decided to sit outside ‘Bar Castillo’ for a change, it used to be our local until ‘Bar Rojas’ opened and ‘Juan’ who has always worked there makes us very welcome; we could here the music but we were not too close as its gets rather over powering as the evening goes on. It started at about 11-00pm and went on until 3-30am! It was a beautiful balmy evening with a light breeze to make is very pleasant, we stayed for a while and then came home and had a little night cap. See the pictures below.

This morning I’ve just made the ‘Chicken Curry’ and the got the ‘Brunch’ ready for later; Farmhouse Pork Sausages, Smoked Back Bacon, Campo Fried Eggs, Tomatoes & Mushrooms, Chorizo and Sautéed Potatoes! I’ve resisted at the moment the ‘Heinz Baked Beans’!! See the picture above and then below -the finished job!!

This afternoon I will watch the qualifying for the ‘Italian Grand Prix# from Monza and the later stage 14 of the ‘Vuelta’which today starts in Santander and then goes through the mountains to La Camperona. No ‘Premiere League’ Football over in England as they are all playing in the International games this weekend; here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona welcome Athletico Bilbao and then it’s the Match of the Day when Real Madrid welcome Atletico Madrid!! - All next weekend for the same reason!

This evening we will have our usual ‘Happy Hour’  before we set off to watch the “Vendimia Festival Parade” of the ‘Virgin’ from the church of Santa Ana and along Calle Mar led by the village Brass Band, it’s then the judging/weighing for the largest bunch of this years crop of Grapes. After the two bands will kick off and play into the wee small hours with singing, dancing and drinking! We will participate a little!!See the pictures above.

PS; Lilli has arrived and is resting after her flight from Finland,no doubt we will see them over the weekend.Well we bumped into them and ended up having a little session as we moved down the bars, we also met their friend Steve and had a good chat/catch up with him - look forward to seeing you again and making contact with you!
